I just saw them live last week. Laid-back but great show; it looked more like a 1.5hr rehearsal set. They ended with a cool, weird cover of Just Like Heaven. BTW, Farm is one of their best albums!

I listened to samples on Amazon, nothing excites me enough to get an album.
Am I the only one not keen on them?

Saw them in Singapore, southeast Asia. They had just toured Australia. It wasn't as loud as I was expecting though.

Absolutely not. I...ahem....'acquired' their "You're Living All Over Me" album after hearing very good things about it.

Three tracks and 10 minutes later it was deleted.

    Not for me.
It's gonna be a glorious day...

Love them! Loudest show I have ever been to.
  • Love Dinosaur Jr! Actually just had their recent cover of Houses come up on my iPod this morning. Great stuff, very consistent band IMO. Still haven't seen them live yet though.

To each his own but you gotta give a band more than 3 tracks to decide if you like them or not. Some of my favorite bands I didn't like at all at first.

J Mascis is a god sent from the skies to melt faces for all of time.

    It's true. :D

Huge Mascis and Dino fan. Love Mascis's solo work. So many bands get back together and have nothing to say or are just pale imitations of their former selves

Beyond and Farm both stand up well against their earlier work and Farm is one of my fave albums by them. Nothing beats You're Liveing All over Me, but Farm is damn good.

J Mascis is a guitar god on the level of Jack White, and the white Stripes are one of my absolute favorite bands. J's been doing it since the 80's though. They have so many great albums. I even really like their stuff since their early 90's heyday. My favorite album of theirs is probably Where You been.

I saw them in Minneapolis last November after being a fan for years. I dig their 90's stuff and most recent albums best. J. has absolutely no charisma, but man, he can play guitar like a mother fucker.

Dig the volume and solo at the end. Whew!

Sidenote, the bassist in the video is Mike Johnson, who played guitar on several Mark Lanegan solo albums.

Nice, dude. Are you going to see J solo this spring? He's playing at the Echo in May.

Did you go to the show in Houston last year? If that's the one your talking about it was my loudest show too. Spinal Tap can't make that claim any more. :D
  • Love me some Dinosaur Jr. Still pissed that I missed them in DC back in 2009; Farm is an awesome album...their cover of Houses is killer.
