Teachers! They get all the perks and big dollar salaries.

For the record, I am, of course, delighted to be talking with all you fine folks...

So, are you upset that she's home, or do you need a snow day too?

Well, I'm a government employee, so basically all my days are snow days... at least as far as what I tend to accomplish.

Teachers get big dollar salaries? Maybe where you live...not here in MA.
    Where do you live?

So, I would assume not so much.

In the future, it might be easier to just assume I mean the opposite of what I say... Might clear up some folk's dislike of me. I can't stop the sarcasm, so everyone needs to get on board!

You know what they say about assuming... it makes an ass out of you and... I forget the rest of the saying, but you happen to be correct this time. ;)

Your first mistake is having feelings. Get rid of all that baggage and we'll get along swimmingly!

you can make good money as a teacher. don't kid yourself.

some of the more tenured ones around here are in the 6 figures. than you get a big chunk of the summer off, a chirstmas vacation, a spring break vacation, and a bunch of other misc days.

than you also get a nice retirement package and you can retire earlier than the average joe and still get 100% of that package

so i don't feel too bad for most teachers.

Around here it all depends on the school district. If you are in the city schools, then you make decent/average money. Now in the rural districts, the teachers have it absolutely made.

Yeah, my wife teaches in a city school district and makes less than half of what Bizarro is talking about. Still, all that vacation time in the summer.... drool.

I think it's safe to say that as a teacher I would last 5 minutes in a classroom before I had picked up two kids by their ears and smashed their noggins together.

Yeah, that does suck... both the cold and my threads If it's any consolation, as a true government employee, I have decided to take the rest of the day off. Time to play in the snow.
