Uh huh. Yeah, that's right. I said it. Soccer, baby. I love this shit!

I figured I'm going to their inaugural home opener in the brand spanking new PPL stadium, so I might as well become a die hard fan.

If ya need me, I'll be the guy in the corner passed out drunk with sunburn. Or checking my iPhone for Phils updates.

Anyway...GO P-U

I'm glad you'll be drinking at least. How much do you have to drink to get through the Philly Soul games?

I'm not a big soccer fan either. I have been watching the WC games though and I do like the fact there are no stoppages during the games (the NFL is the WORST with this...you go to a game and watch an hour of action and 2 hours of guys standing around). so you know you're investing 1.5 hours and you're done. might not be an exiciting 1.5 hours, but it's not a big committment.

Alright! A little action in this thread - let's keep it up!

Marcos, never been to a Soul game and they havent played a game since they won their "championship" in '08. Though I hear they're coming back in 2011, but without Bon Jovi so I'm not as enthused. These are jokes.

Fixer, yeah, I can't help but watch these games because it's all that's on ESPN and it's absolutely being shoved down our throat. Though I do find the World Cup game for Xbox to be fun. I don't mind it, but I'll never acknowledge it like other(better) sports. Mostly I can't stand how these pussies flop like fish out of water.

www.phillysongs.net - better get up to date on my songs!

Or just do what I see other Euro countries do - get drunk and start fighting. We're good at that in Philly anyway.

And, 81, get in on the CUP FEVER!! C'mon, baby, you know you want to!

I never went to a Soul game either, but confess I went to the pararde (is that the right word?), It was during lunch time and I got out of the office though ultimately it may have been more depressing than staying in the office. Thus, I will be attending the Union parade and will buy you a beer. But only if it's in Philly, Chester will probably still be in lockdown.

I wouldn't be surprised if I drunkenly wander off after the game into Chester. I've done it before at Widener and nearly got mugged. Only reason I didn't is because I ran from the dude onto MacDade Boulevard. Suffice to say, that sobered me up real quick.

Saw the game on tv. New stadium looked pretty cool. Good game, how are they doing in the standings?

Looked like a great time from the little I saw on TV. Crowd seemed pretty crazy and the stadium looked great.

Perfect. That's exactly what it is - but I'll go with Chester for now. The smell of low tide was magical.

Yeah, that "supporters section" wouldn't let up. Even though I can guarantee they're a bunch of nerds. But the whole crowd was into it the whole time.

The stadium has a really sweet setup, a college-ish feel to it. Not a bad seat in there - you feel like you're right on top of the field. It sits literally right on the water. I don't think they were planning for low tide though. Tailgate scene was pretty cool as well.

    WOOOOOOOO!!! P-U!!!!

My buddy's company is the major sponsor for Man U. People in Aon are PISSED that they laid off 10,000 employees to only go spend 60 million to have their name on the front of their jerseys. And the rich get richer...

PJ reference during the game. They were talking about the one guy on Man U, Giggs, and he debuted in '91. They mentioned other memorable debuts in '91 including Pearl Jam' s "Ten".
