Anyone seen shows here? How good is this place. Is the balcony all GA or are there seats for first come, first serve or VIP?

Peace

  • Overall the RAVE sucks ass. Hopefully, you're going to a pretty good act so you won't notice the suckiness. Its all general admission by the way.

It also depends on if you're talking about the Eagles Ballroom or the Rave. They're both in the same building(Eagles is upstairs, Rave is ground level). Eagles ballroom is bigger and the balcony has some seats all the way around for first come, first serve basis. I wouldn't sat they're shit-holes, but not the greatest either. Eagles ballroom is definitely better than the Rave. If it's a band you really want to see, I wouldn't let anyones opinions of the place keep you away. Just from experience though, in both places, the further from the stage you stand, the better the sound is.

    Dead Weather perhaps?

i didn't mind either one to be honest. i saw down at the rave and it was cool cause it's pretty personal and it sounded fine. Saw alice in chains at eagles ballroom and had absolutely no problem with it; in fact i liked it a lot and would go there again.

Shitty part of town but I like the venue. Seen Chris Cornell, Green Day, Weezer, Rancid, Primus, The Toadies and Bush there. I recommend it. Just make sure you park in the venues parking and not somewhere down the street or your car will likley get broken into or stolen.

In my experience, the sound was always kinda shitty in the Eagles Ballroom, but The Rave always sounded fine. Great place to see a show, IMO.

before i moved away i saw some great shows in both...

Eagles Ballroom: The White Stripes, Bush, Modest Mouse, The Strokes

The Rave: Social Distortion, Korn, Sonic Youth

oh, and that Dead Weather show at The Rave would be awesome. i almost want to fly back home for that.

I keep hearing that its in a shitty part of town. I've lived in some pretty shitty neighborhoods in Chicago, how bad can a shitty part of town actually be in Milwaukee?

And yes, its the Dead Weather Show Im asking about.

    Thanks to all that replied
