I agree that Hartford is the worst

    Toronto, Molson Amphitheater or ACC

Haven't seen PJ there, but I saw Radiohead there on the Kid A tour and the venue is awesome
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

i dig outdoors...bonnaroo was sweet with the sunset. polaris down in columbus was my first show...still the best venue

In Columbus, Ohio? Polaris is gone now...but it was never a great place to see shows. Too bad I could have seen them at the Neport here in Columbus....that would have been awesome!!!

i knew it had been renamed, didn't know it closed. bummer. saw my first PJ show there back in 2000. we got there just as the gates opened. we eneded being right at the bottom of the lawn with only a few people in front of us. sonic youth opened. i remember looking back midway thru the show and being amazed at all the people that were behind us. it was an awesome day

Depends on how you define best.

The shows at the Spectrum were good. But the facilities there were not so good. Any women that used the bathroom knows what I'm talking about.

The shows at Mansfield are usually good. But you either have to pay the premier parking or sit in the parking lot for 2 hours after the show. Same with the Gorge. Plus there you have to be prepared for the 2 hour drive to and from Seattle.

The crowds are usually really good in Italy and Portugal, but looks like they are only playing festivals there this year. Festivals and big stadium shows have there drawbacks. Namely the stage is really high, the barrier is set farther back from the stage, and the crowd can get rough.

If sound is what your looking for, then the Gisbon has the best sound. But LA crowds are hit or miss.

Sometimes the place doesn't really matter. The second to the last night of the tour is usually the best show.

If you are going to a show in the US and don't have a really low 10c number, then you might want to stay away from the bigger cities. MSG you could be at the back of the floor, while in Salt Lake City your in the sixth row.

Then, you could everything all lined up, and one of the band members is having an off night.

Without a doubt, I'd go with House of Blues - Chicago (with Robert Plant as the opening act). They played many of their hits that really rock and Ed was in rare form with such a small crowd. It was hands-down better than any arena show I've seen them play.

Gotta be outside, but with seating. I think amphitheatres are the perfect venues..... not a fan of festivals (needing to fight for spots closer to the stage/get there super early to do so...), or arena shows (only a handful of decent seats).

In amphitheatres, all the seats are pretty decent.

My bias opinion - Mesa Amphitheater - Mesa, AZ where I saw PJ for the first time. 5000'ish capacity - no chairs, all lawn. By the middle of the first set the grass in front of the stage was gone and there was a swirling dust tornado rising up from the pit. I'll never forget that sight. That was also the show that YL was recorded at for the Daughter single. Once I get my flux capacitor fixed (Doc Brown should be back with the parts soon) this is the day I'm going to go back to visit.

Ive never seen them in a small venue mostly ampitheaters and arena's. The starplex in Dallas had a lighted giant Ferris Wheel operating while the show was going on that was pretty trippy. The spectrum was a dump but I enjoyed it. Eddie at the Auditorium theater in chicago is a pretty historic venue. I think Red Rocks would be cool.

Best: Bryce Jordan Center, State College PA. Only Beaver Stadium, the largest stadium in the country, could top it!

Good: Spectrum, Gorge, MSG, Toledo Sports Arena, Starlake (Pittsburgh), Molsen Amp (Toronto)

    Worst: Camden (obviously)

There's this place in Grand Prarie( near Dallas) called the Nokia Theatre. It's pretty small but it's got great sound quality and you can see the stage from any seat in the building. I've seen R.E.M. there twice. Absolutly amazing! Definetly a place PJ should play.

Arena over amphitheater every time for me. But I would love to see them at a unique place like Red Rocks.

I cant agree more...Seeing a show at Red Rocks is on my "bucket list". And if it were PJ, I'm all over it. I'd have to say my first show - Ft Lauderdale baseball stadium 96 - was my favorite and Bonnaroo 08 is a very close second. I understand the reasoning of those who dislike festivals, but to hear 60,000+ sing along to songs like Better Man, there's nothing like it

I prefer outdoors, for sound quality and atmosphere. Im Hawaiian so naturally I like outdoor event with great weather. Bonarroo was sweet! But the best place I've seen a PJ show is hands down..... GIBSON AMPHITHEATRE! Id still like to see them at the Gorge or Red Rocks though...

I am choosing Red Rocks or the Gorge since I've never been to either. I would love to catch a show at either venue!
