THE storied TriBeCa rock club Wetlands Preserve has been preserved in a new documentary set to open Friday at the Cinema Village. Featuring performances by the Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Ben Harper and others who launched their careers at the venue, it's the second music film this year for producer Peter Shapiro, whose "U2 3D" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January

wetlands was a great place. . . it was a tiny space where you could stand directly in front of the band (no barrier), or you could chill out in the bar area, which was raised above the floor so you could still see. There was also a basement room for extracurricular activities. On the main floor there was an old VW bus where you could buy merch and pick up flyers about ecological causes. I miss that place... (unfortunately, I didn't get to see PJ there)
