As said by Mike McCready from the radio interview. There were 22 songs recorded, of which 11 were chosen for Backspacer. I don't know if he meant six months from now or six months from September.
11/6/95, 11/18/97, 7/13/98, 7/14/98, 10/24/00, 10/25/00, 10/28/00, 6/2/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 7/6/06, 7/7/06, 7/9/06, 7/10/06, 7/13/06, 7/15/06, 7/16/06, 7/18/06, 10/21/06, 4/10/08, 4/13/08, 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, 10/9/09

wow... how cool would that be?? after all the waiting for this one

its like when they film part 2 and 3 of a trilogy at the same time and release both movies less than a year apart... ALWAYS a good thing! (even though the matrix ended up sucking)

    DO IT

I am not going to get my hoped up on this one. Over the years Mike and Ed have been known to say things that never panned out. I am sure they have good intentions and all, but plans change as time goes by and even if the intention to do this is strong right now, 6 months down the road there's a good chance that circumstance will change.

That said, I would LOVE to see an EP

true, true .. but i feel like that's more with ed than mike. idk .. i have this gut feeling that this will come true. mike sounded pretty confident in it, like they've been tossing around the idea .. or listening to all of us bitching about lost b-sides and stuff. i think it will happen and if so, that is SWEET!

This is exactly what I have always wanted them to do. They always seem to record a bunch of songs for each record so why not release those in the form of an E.P. Especially for the last 3 records now they seem to have recorded alot! Thats why im looking forward to the rereleases of Riot Act and Avocado the most. Im expecting alot of unreleased stuff to come with those.

something acousticy like "jar of flies" would be great... especially if its true about eds song writing being profoundly impacted by ITW... imagine ITW with STONE!

Anything that even remotely resembles "Jar Of Flies" would be amazing.

His exact words were "might release in 6 months from NOW."

They should release an EP! It could be called Big Bold & Free... and it'd be a free download -_-
