Snap dude, I've been into the pumpkins longer than Pearl jam i think, and i adore them. I have travelled round Europe seeing them and i collect their live shows, pretty much equivalent to Pearl Jam. I don't think people really realise how great this band are, especially in the live department.

For me it's generally Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Smashing Pumpkins who i find so so hard to put in some sort of any order.
  • They were a definite #2 for me in the '90s. I liked the new album quite a bit actually. Have you seen If All Goes Wrong....the docoumentary is quite good but I would have wanted the conert film to include some oldies.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
  • Haven'y seen If All Goes Wrong yet but I plan on it, I saw them on their recent anniversery tour and it was great, i mean they were. The crowd absolutly sucked.

Personal favorite song is Disarm, how about you guys?

Yeah it's nice, i couldn't stop listening to Peace + Love. Meh, i just want all the backstage stuff, i've heard all the old songs a million times and it isn't the same without the original line up and the band just sounds different probably due to using different equipment and the people playing. But i love how they reformed as i was able to see Jimmy + Billy as i wasn't old enough back in the day.

New album is alright, it's sooo much better live though. The production on it is terrible, listen to starz, its horrific, but when it comes to starz live its insane!

Your al ucky human being, i have recordings from those shows (official bootlegs :D) and they really played some deep catalogue shit and some fan favourites that hadn't been played. I would like to tell you my favourite bit in the DVD but it would ruin it for you/.

My favorites are Starla, Soma, Quiet, XYU, Bodies, Bury Me, Mayonnaise, I Am One, Obscured amongst many others. They were in my top 3 bands for a long time, and I started to lose interest around the time of Adore. I owned Gish for a while, and then they hooked me when Siamese Dream came out. Ah the good old days.

You say that but even if the records sucked i still think the songs live were brilliant. Check out the Adore tour...

Then the 99 tour saw loads of cool Machina 1 + 2 songs

Then the Farewell tour was just cool as well, loads of songs were reworked again which totally fit the whole Farewell and Goodbye aspect of it all.

ah man, 97 is a great great tour. I think as well on the 97 you got this really nice version of disarm, has a cool intro and it semi heavy.

Yeah...I vaguely remember the version of disarm you speak of. It really was a great show....I remember some dude dressed up as frog coming out on stage and then going around pulling all these chicks up on stage to dance during 1979....it was wild.
I would love to be able to find a bootleg of that show

I probably have it and i think i listened to it the other day, it would have been Jimmy Frog from the Frogs, they always randomly appeared and opened.

Give me the date of it. I don't know where Biloxi is.

I was there but due to technical difficulties they couldn't release the offical boot and now i'm stuck with a reall really bad audience one.

no idea of the quality, but it's downloading. Took over control of my bros pc at home, set it to download. Will have to upload it to somewhere, what site you prefer? megaupload? rapidshare? sendspace? etc
  • Either megaupload or rapidshare will work...seems like I have always had better luck with RS though

  • Love the Pumpkins. Definitely up there with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Blind Melon & Faith No More as my top bands.

Been listening to 'Machina' a lot recently. Not sure why it get trashed so much, I think it's great.
'The Everlasting Gaze', 'Try Try Try' are amazing tracks. As for 'Stand Inside Your Love', that's just insanely good!!

Finally saw them for the first time last February and they were great. Didn't know what to expect in a live show, particularly as Billy hasn't got the strongest voice, but they were fantastic.
Even if Billy did have a strop and buggered off before the encore!!!!
