Why Can't we Keep our Old User Names or Make up Another One???

My power just came back on about two hours ago:) after 4 days... Any way I would like to keep my old user name, and it has a different start date on it...or at least let me make up a new one. It's not my fault that the Web Site changed:(

    I finally found the message pit. Yay! Is this my newly assigned user name? I don't like it and would like to have my old one back again too.

    They key is to sync up your e-mail address between your 10C account and your Message Pit account. Then log in here with your Message Pit account and you should be your old self and see your 10C profile.

    If the email addresses are different in the 2 accounts, when attempting to change one to the other results in an error 'this address is already registered' or whatever. We can't do this.

    Is there a way around that?

    Easier said than done aNiMaL. As others have pointed out, if the email is in use, you can't use it on both accounts.

    Did you try to sync them both ways? So, if it failed changing your Message Pit e-mail to your 10C e-mail on the old message board, did you try changing your 10C e-mail here to your Message Pit e-mail, or vise versa?

    I just tried your suggestion and it's the same error both ways. Hopefully get get it worked out. :)

    I messaged the 10c about mine. I had a different email address for the 10C than the one I joined the other board with. When I logged on here first, I was (my initials)######, but I gave them my member number and both email addresses and names and asked them to change it to my Ignatius and it was done today.

    You can try that.

    I just wanted to follow up in case others are having this issue. I used the previous posters advice and sent an email. As usual, their direct contact support was great. They were unable to merge the two accounts, but did the work to delete my old account and give my account my old username. I lost my history and post count, but I'm not one who cares about that. Figured I should point that out for those curious.
