Yea, I personally wouldn't buy tickets to most festivals until pretty soon before the show unless I'm positive I'm going. I think that most tend not to sell out for a long time if at all.

you will probably be able to get them for below face on Craigslist just before the day of show. people always end not being able to make and just want to get something for the ticket. done it for sporting events and even Lolla last year.

But there certainly won't be 300,000 people at Edgefest.

    No doubt

agreed, I think max they would hold is probably 60,000. I would be suprised if they actually sold that many, there will be alot of kids and not many can afford $100 ticket.

    I need some opinions:

Should I buy an Edgefest ticket - eat the 100 dollar cost even thoguh the only band I like that's playing is STP? I was going to hold out and see if they did a club or something the night before the show. Why pay 100 for an hour set when you can get a full set for less? I know when Army of Anyone played the Horseshoe they promised they would come back and do anyother club but obviously that was with Patrick not Weiland. Any advice? Oh - and how long do STP sets usually run - granted it's been almost ten years but are we talking two hours here [not at a festival, at their own shows]. If so - I'll wait til they come back.

I think it is a great solid lineup. If PJ were to be added i'd be in my glory. Also am a Sam Roberts fan so pleased about him being there as well.

Solo STP shows are generally close to two hours.

Well you've pretty much convinced me this festival is a waste of money baring someone like The Hip, AIC, or PJ being a third headliner. I'll wait and hold my breath for a real tour. Or better yet show up before STPs set and buy some scalper tickets - the doors will have been open long enough at that point should be able to score a pair for $60.

I forgot about Sam, he's great live. Still, how long will his set be? I can't imagine STP going over 1:15.

Linkin Park, STP and a third headliner to be announced shortly. Man I hope it's PJ. It's at Downsview park July 12th.

Edit* Through email Alan Cross of the Edge 102 said he approached PJ to play but that they " couldn't afford them"

Pearl Jam doesn't play festivals because they are too dangerous and employ security that PJ has no connection with.

    Oh wait....

Im kinda a but curious about STP, since Scott is in rehab and with his troubles with the law (not sure if he has a criminal record) and his very well noted drug problem, wont he have trouble getting into Canada? Or do us Canadians just let anyone in.

That would suck if they had to canx.
