Great song from one of the best albums of all time...."Red".
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

Ten Years Gone is one of the first songs I tried to learn on guitar. I think I was a little over ambitious :)

    13th Floor Elevators are brilliant.

Completely agree. In fact, you can throw in just about every Roky Erickson song as well. He's pretty unknown to nearly everyone I talk to.

I would also have to say:

    My Iron Lung- Radiohead
Play With Fire- Rolling Stones (although my first pick would have been Mother's Little Helper ;) )
    She's Leaving Home- The Beatles
When- Dave Clark Five (not a huge fan of the DC5, but this song is pretty interesting)

I don't know a lot of REM outside of their hits, and when I got an ipod I put a few of their albums on it and when I listen to it on shuffle, I've enjoyed their lesser known songs and counttry feedback is one of them.

I agree it's a good song, but I don't think it's really underrated. Isn't this the song that was in Good Will Hunting and arguably might be his biggest song. I could be wrong, I don't know much about him outside this song and Twilight.

Yeah, it's on Good Will Hunting and, along with Miss Misery, it's probably his most well known and best loved so not really underrated.

    It is brilliant though.

Yeah your probably right. I thought about that as I was posting but its such a great song and IMO he's underrated in general.

Miss Misery, that's right. I think that was the one I was thinking about as being is best known. He played that at the Oscars, right? I should look into him more because the songs I've heard I've liked.

It's cool. Sorry to nitpick. You are right that he is underrated.

    Yes to everything.

Get Either/Or, then his self-titled, then From a Basement on the Hill and then the rest :)

Agreed on both albums. Either/ Or is my favorite album of his.

To add to the list, AIC Rotten Apple. Great song but I never hear anyone talk about it.

I agree with a lot of the stuff you guys already chose:

    Seasons of Wither - Aerosmith
    Tremor Christ
    Estranged - GnR
    Still Remains - STP
Try not to breathe - REM

    I would add:

The Rover - Led Zeppelin (this song KILLS, even with crappy production)
Try and love again - Eagles (it's cheesy but I just love that song)
A Letter to Elise - Cure (a brilliant piece of writing)

ugh, I have so many more but I can't think right now!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this has been said or not, but "Blue, Red and Grey" by The Who is criminally underrated. It is one of my favorite songs of all time and I everyone I play it for falls in love with it. I don't know why its not more popular. We know Eddie likes it too.

Great song, although I also really love the 1000 Homo DJ's version of this. Trent Reznor screaming Supernaut is almost better than the original.

You are so right about "The Rover" and "A Letter to Elise". Great songs.

"Snakecharmer" by RATM is a great song too that completely kicks ass.
