EXTREME (band)

Has anyone ever heard of Extreme, they were a band in the 80-90's. Their biggest hit was "More Than Words." Anyway, the only album I heard was III Sides to Every Story, and it was awesome. A lot of political songs that would be appropriate these days.

    had to learn a song of theirs for a band i played in. never really liked them though
    they call them fingers, but i never see them fing. oh, there they go

    Really a truly bad band. Bettencourt is a great guitarist making shoddy music.

    I saw them a few times, they were one of those bands that were pretty good for a short time. To be fair, they put on a really excellent, full of energy show. They kinda opitimised a certain time in music, unfortunately for them, that time only lasted for about 6 months.

    I saw them front row at Jones beach...... Extreme, Cinderella, and David Lee Roth......

    While it seems impossible... He is the worst frontman Van Halen has ever had.

    I think their performance at the concert for Freddie Mercury at Wembley Stadium was on of the best. Seriously. Youtube it.

    I'll say it!!! 3 Sides To Every story was a very solid album. Timing couldn't have been worse though for them. It came out in 92 right when the Seattle scene was blowing the fuck up. I also heard recently they were going to reunite (doesn't everyone).

    Loved 'em at the time ... but I was just 15 and have somehow "grown out of them" They seem ridiculous now when I listen back to them. It's the same for me for any Band that still has a glimpse of 80's Hair Metal in their sound/attitude/looks I really can't relate to this anymore.

    I am really quite sad, I don't mind them, my boyfriend likes them and they are played quite often in my local pub.

    Sheesh. S'all coming out now yer buncha saddo's!

    My first girlfriend loved them, she'd seen them live, we used to snog to the album with More Than Words on it. Actually, I didn't mind then all that much myself, was on a mission at the time to learn to play guitar and there seemed to be some nifty playing on that record.

    I saw them at Donington in '94. They were second headline band before Aerosmith and they were not popular.......people were booing and throwing stuff......

    Aerosmith were brilliant though :)

    Hehehe....my sister really liked them about the time that More Than Words came out. I bought her the Pornograffiti album for her birthday or Christmas, can't remember which. Sometime down the road, she gave the album back to me saying that she made a copy of More Than Words, which was the only song she really liked and thought I would like the album more than she did. I admit, I occasionally play that album...:o

    They had some catchy songs. "Hole Hearted" had a great acoustic thump, and "Make Love, Not War" has a ridiculously good guitar solo.

    My first ever gig in '92. I have fond memories of them but don't listen to them ... could have something to do with me having all the albums on tape.

    If the rumoured World tour happens I'd go to relive some memories ... surfy I'll see you and t'other half there :D

    More Than Words is a great tune, but definitely not representative of their music as a whole, which I am not a fan of.

    On a side note, Nuno is from my hometown and I played baseball as a kid with his nephew.

    they actually were around for several years before that record came out. basically, by the time they made it "big" their style of music was dead. bad timing indeed.
