Lol! Well apparently they played to over 27,000 people there, so it was a pretty big place. I think it's being refurbished at the moment, probably for the Olympics or something. I was only 13 at the time, and I remember being shit scared walking about Mile End afterwards!

I just did a google search and found out that Geri Halliwell rates it as her 2nd favourite gig ever.

my first concert was not by choice to see Counting Crows and John Mayer in 2000. i was only 10, but I still swear that the Counting Crows were pretty good. Since then I've seen many good shows, The Allman Brothers at the Beacon Theater three times, Clapton at MSG, tons of local concerts etc etc. all leading up to the first concert I was COMPLETELY psyched to go to- MSG I from this year. Then EV solo at NJPAC which i almost freaked out when I realized I had 8th row seats (thanks 10c). And Im going to see Joe Satriani with Mountain in October.

I got mine through my recreation department and it was $7.00 with the state discount in 1978. Elizebeth was our counselor and she took us all in the county van, how she kept up with us all I'll never know.

i was 12 and my mom dragged me there with my older sister who was obssessed with boyz II men. it was actually pretty entertaining for the first half hour or so. at least at the time i thought it was.
my aunt and uncle brought me to a concert at the NY state fair when i was really young (i don't remember how old i was or what year it was, but i remember some of the concert). it was crystal gayle with ray stevens opening. we had some pretty good seats, too.

That's awesome ! Here's a high five for Hendrix. Other favorites for me were: The Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Pink Floyd and Hot F*ckn' Tuna !
My tickets were way in the back but me and my buds snuck up front...
I couldn't get over how small Angus was, I was about 5' 8" 140 at the time and Angus looked to be about my size....so much energy though... but at the time it was odd to hear this new vocalist (Brian Johnson) sing Problem Child, Dirty Deeds, Highway to Hell etc....
We were really missing Bon Scott at that time
...and yeah, they were all dressed in schoolboy knickers...

Haha! I wouldn't go that far! I've seen hurdreds better since, but it was pretty cool for a first experience.
