Got to be one of the best unknown bands out there. This is also one of Eddie's and Mike's favorite band. Love the song the remote part, so powerful. Any other fans on here?

They were unknown to me until the 2003 tour, and now they are one of my favorites. There's an awesome studio acoustic version of Love Steals Us From Lonlieness that I had on my old iPod, but now I can't find it.

From what I hear, Roddy is putting out another solo album next year. That's good news.

Saw them eons ago at my local student union bar. Around the time 100 broken windows was released. I thought they were amazing. Most of the stuff since then I have found to be pretty mediocre.

100 broken windows is classic, Did not find their latter stuff memorable. I liked the song "You held the World in your Arms", but other than that, the songs just were not as good as "Mistake Pagaent", "Discourage", "Idea Track" and that Gertrude Stein song. Classic stuff.

I thought their last album was a masterpiece. Short, but it had some classic songs on them. I suggest everyone get their live dvd.

I love Idlewild!!! but at the same time find myself slightly frustrated by them. 100 Broken Windows and The Remote Part were absolute classic albums to me, but they haven't managed to follow it up with anything that will push them into the public eye (last 2 albums were never going to bring any new listeners in). I'm a tad bit worried that the best of and B side album releases were a last ditch attempt by the record label, really hope they keep their heads above water without getting dropped. There are a lot of british indie bands that had their 15 minutes of fame in 00-03 before kicking the bucket, and I don't want Idlewild to be one of them!

"Mistake Pageant" is a great song. I agree "100 Broken Windows" is the best album I have of theirs (I only have 100 Broken, Make Another World, and A Distant History (rarities and B-sides).)

itsevobaby, good call on el capitan. Great song.

I'd like to respectfully disagree with fowls about them not having anything on later albums, here I'm only talking about "Make Another World". I think there are definitely some songs on that album that could have put them in the public eye. "Once in Your Life" could defintely be played on the radio and "If it takes you home" kicks all kinds of ass. Just my two cents.

Once in your life may be one of the best songs they have ever written. Love the guitar solo. Am I the only one who gets chills when I hear the remote part.... especially when the drums start kicking in and the other 2 guitars. Simply amazing.
