woohoo, got an early christmas present today when i received a package from the one and only, the legendary Jack Endino...
if you ever get to talk to this guy let me tell you that he's the most approachable, down-to-earth LEGEND you could ever meet... hehe, i think i'm even going to keep the customs declaration slip with his signature on it - yeah, i'm a geek, i know ;) but to think that the man who produced nirvana, soundgarden and almost everyone in seattle scribbled my address on an envelope and waited in line at the post office just seems quite surreal :D

the album rocks, i totally recommend it!
it's a must-have for all skin yard fans, everyone who's interested in the seattle scene or just enjoys great rock music...
if you like queens of the stone age you will like this as well... great guitars and vocals by jack... it's basically a solo album with backing by his band Earthworm... pearl jam fans who have the Mad Season album might want to check it out because barrett martin drums on most of the tracks... other musicians include rob skinner, pat pedersen, alex sibbald and josh sinder...
do i have to mention that the production is great as well? i guess that goes without saying...

you can listen to some songs at
http://www.myspace.com/jackendino
and while you're at it, check out his website http://www.endino.com , he's a hilarious writer...

errm, and if you REALLY have no idea who jack endino is (shame on you!!!), please check his website...
but at least you're in good company, most of my friends have no clue who he is... read the liner notes and credits of your favourite albums, dammit!!! :D

That's cool psy, it should be a cool record, a friend of mine worked with Endino sometime ago because he produced the debut album of my friend's then band -though I don't like that record, but that had to do with the band, no the producer-, he's told me that yes, he's a humble and accesible guy, too deep in music and his work as producer. Didn't know he had a solo record out, it must be worth the listening.
Stone: Thanks for the pick and the night of complicity, you rock!

  • jack is a master. made bleach for like $600. and his how to over produce a rock record essay is pretty much the greatest thing i've ever read. it's a shame more of my fellow engineering students haven't read it.
