Moral Dilemma

A friend of mine from high school is getting married on the date of the first Boston show. We used to be pretty close but now I only see her a couple times a year. Going to 7 shows already this tour. Should I blow off her wedding and make it 8? Or would I be being a selfish prick?

most new yorkers are selfish pricks i have noticed. rise above and go to the wedding.
No time to be void and save up on life, you gotta spend it all.

Um, if it was the only PJ show, I'd say it would be tough. But, you're seeing them seven other times. This should not even be a question.

You only see her a couple times a year? I mean, do you guys send birthday and Christmas presents and talk on the phone? If not, that doesn't sound too close. The thing to take into consideration when you make your choice is how much will she honestly miss you? If not that much, pick the show. (I'm terrible! and a New Yorker ;) )

If you are already going to 7 shows outside of your friend's wedding, then I would go to the wedding. For the 8th show you would have seen well, someone will have you covered on audio boot I think. That's awesome that you can go to 7-8 shows on a tour. I live in pearl jam's most hated state (It seems) and unfortunately I'm going to 0 shows

Go to the show. Trust me you won't regret it (unlike the wedding).

I think you are talking about a problem dealing with values or even ethics... not quite a moral decision.

    enjoy your 7 shows.

Is it an open bar? Seriously though if your friend invited you she wants you there. I would go to the wedding.

I am leaning toward the show on this one.

If this is just a casual acquaintance who you used to be good frineds with but not anymore, you'll end up sitting at a table full of people who annoy you, thinking about what you are missing at the show.

Concert, unless this is someone that adds a tremendous amount to your life. Just say you already had a prior engagement, send a gift and your regrets. Weddings are overrated unless you're in the bridal/groom party which means it still sucks but that at least you are there for someone you care about.

Congratulations on your wedding and a most awesome start to the honeymoon. I do hope that you are taking the person you are marrying.

Definitely the wedding. It wouldn't even matter if that date was the only PJ show you could attend. Friends and family are MUCH more important than seeing a band perform live.
