Sigur Ros

What an absolutely incredible band. Missed them unfortunately in October when they stopped by, I hear they are a band everyone must see before they die.
Something about their music is striking. I put it along with Explosions in the Sky or some of Radiohead's music in that its music you put on an iPod and go grab a pillow, and lay down in your yard, in the grass gazing at the stars. Its music that sort of makes all the crap we all have to deal with everyday, somehow worth it. Life is worth living when you listen to Sigur Ros. You appreciate the world around you more.
() is unreal. The fact they used a made up language and that its up to the listener to decide the lyrics and the meaning.
Untitled #1 evokes something pretty powerful and the damn song is made up of a fairly simple melody. And Untitled 8 has an epic feel to it, but I most enjoy the first part, the simple guitar melody that starts off the song.
Hvarf-Heima the documentary, remains one of the most startling pieces of art i have ever seen. It was just Sigur Ros playing live, in remote locations in Iceland. The music and the images really worked together.
