I'm not a fan ... or rather, a phan .... but, if I were, I'd be out of my head with anticipation.

My twin brother, his wife, all of my friends are going. I'm from Boston originally now living in LA.

    Would love to be there.

One of my all time favorite bands playing in the park I grew up in. That would be magic.

    Have a great time.

damn, they're one of your all time faves? If that were the case, I'd be there ... (provided the work/family thing was cooperative)

If it were, say, Pearl Jam ... I'd push over old ladies to get in .... (ok, I wouldn't, but, you know what I mean).

anyway ... tip o' the cap to a west coast, former bostonian ... in all the Sox thread posts, don't think I ever knew you were living out west.

I wish I was. I spent a lot of money to get Mansfield tickets before Fenway was announced. I really can't afford to go to both. Plus I have some training to go to for work the day after Fenway so it would have been hard for me to make it anyway.

Already miss your old avatar.:D

Sadly I'm married with a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Zinging back East is not so easy. I'm going to Japan in July (with the family), and using my vacation time and $$$$ for that. Plus I NEED to bank as much good will from the wife in order to see Pearl Jam.... if I use it up on Phish then it won't be there come the fall.

My first trip is tentatively OLF in San Fran. And perhaps Phish at Shoreline. Trying to make those happen.

For the first show of the tour, I thought it was AWESOME. They sounded phenomenal and the energy was through the roof!

I went - sound sucked per usual for a fenway gig. Show was eh. Left early. Well over a decade between phish shows for me and probably will be another decade before I would consider going again.

Fenway is not built for music so there I agree that the sound was off a bit. But I think you went to a different show, or you really are just not much of a fan...because they brought it last night. First show of the tour and they were tight. Very promising.

I guess I should of participated in the balloons which are still scattered in abudance over the fenway area this morning.....

So your beef is with the scene as opposed to the show.

No definately the show. Glad you enjoyed yourself - I just thought it was blah - different strokes for different folks I guess.

I said hi to 2 people w/ PJ shirts. One had an LBC shirt in the "Baseball Tavern" and another had what looked to be a No Code era shirt, as it is similar to the one I have. I was wearing a light colored 2000 tour shirt w/ the setlists on the back. Any chance either guy is on the board?

Now this thread takes a turn as that was me in LBC.

Nice dude. I can't not say hi to people w/ PJ shirts on. It's impossible. Well, it's too bad you didn't like the show, but it was nice to "meet" you.

I could not imagine a more annoying scene than a bunch of rich Boston snobs in buttoned down shirts smoking pot at Fenway.

I lived in Boston for four year and yes, there are some wealthy and snobby people, but most cities have that element as well. The majority of the population are hard working people just trying to get by due to high living expenses. I'm living in Maine now and just saw someone in a buttoned down shirt, he must be a rich snob. Idiot.

I was there, agree that the sound was brutal...quiet and spotty. The set was pretty good, the band was having fun, though I wouldn't necessarily say they were "tight", Destiny Unbound was pretty terrible and sounded under practiced.

I thought they were relatively tight, with obvious room for improvement, after not really having played in 5 years.

We switched back and forth between the 1st and 2nd floors.
