R.I.P. Jay Bennett from Wilco...

I don't know if there are any other Wilco fans on the board...but I can say that they are a band that really made me realize there is other music out there worth listening to apart from Pearl Jam. Anyway, former member Jay Bennett apparently died in his sleep after complications from hip surgery. It's really sad, especially after he just blogged a few days ago about how scared he was about the surgery and was asking people/fans for words of encouragement to help calm him down. Anyway...just thought some people might be interested in knowing.

Some Wilco music will be played today...
R.I.P
Music has lost another amazingly talented genius. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
If you have never come across any of the amazing music created by Bennett and Tweedy, please do yourself a favor and do so. RIP, Jay.

I am in your exact same boat. I discovered Wilco as I was suffering from a disease known as: "All Music in the world is irrelevant unless it's Pearl Jam-itis"
Major Symptoms include:
* Your friends become annoyed with your love of PJ
* You don't have a good time at a party unless you get to hear some PJ
* You belittle the favorite bands of others, even to their face (this will cost you friends)
Principal Cause: Most music really does seem irrelevant when compared to PJ
Antidote: Wilco, Spoon, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens, TV on the Radio & several others
PJ was my "Wilco" and I suffered from Led Zepitis.
As far as the OP goes...... I've never been a fan of Wilco. I've given a few of their albums a chance based various sources of musical recommendation, this board included. Nothing's ever bit me, but I was still sad to hear about this. Especially the part about him blogging and being afraid.
