New album this summer!

Look what I just read on ultimate-guitar.com:
Creed frontman Scott Stapp says the reunited group is about "a week and a half away" from pre-production for its new album, tentatively titled "Full Circle." And he promises that "we're gonna have an album mixed and mastered in the next five weeks" - hopefully for an August release.
I know I'm excited

because pearl jam makes good music....creed makes shit...don't take much to make shit
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
AIYO!
While I don't totally agree with assessment, I do admire your hatred for RA. Just wondering, but what would happen if you had to sit and listen to RA and S/T back to back?
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
Because those type of bands go through a book of recycled guitar riffs, lyrics, basslines, and drum fills and slap em together and call it new. They aren't making a new album, none of those type of bands do. And honestly, thats fuckin pathetic that they are going to out of no where create an album in 5 weeks.

Alot of albums have been written and recorded in a few days. Creed sucks, but some really amazing albums have been made in less than a week. Maybe them writing and recording really fast will make their music better.
Give the guy a break.
No kidding. Maybe if they hadn't sat around for months talking about things they wouldn't have talked themselves into stupid decisions like cutting Sad, Fatal, Down, Other Side, Undone, and Education from the albums so that we could have the joy of hearing Cropduster, Ghost, Get Right, Green Disease, Evacuation, and Gods' Dice.
I think I'd be crying with boredom by the end of RA and bleeding from the ears at the poor production on s/t. Between those two albums and the songs they shelved to slap onto lost dogs, there's maybe enough strong material for one GREAT album... but for both albums, they relegated the best songs to b-sides, included some very weak songs (as they've admitted by talking about approaching this album through the lens of "is anyone going to care to hear this in a few years?), and slapped poor production on top of it all. s/t is a far superior album really, with only a few misses among some good songs. But RA... nothing doing. It's weak. And the material they released as b-sides is evidence that it didn't have to be. Undone, Down, and Other Side are all 3 better than any single song on RA.
While I really like the s/t album, I am REALLY REALLY glad they are back with Brendan O'Brien. I think all of their albums would have been better with him in charge.
Makes me really anxious for the new album.
Nuclear fission
RA wouldn't exist if kept BOb around and S/T would be better. I'll be happy if he can convince them that they aren't a punk band.
I understand it's all a matter of preference, but... Save You (IMO) is genuinely better than the three you listed.
I generally agree with your overall assessment of Riot Act. I think it is pretty boring to listen to all the way through. I usually hit only side A (and even then I still skip LBC and I Am Mine most of the time). I do think that the riffs laid down in Can't Keep, Save You, Cropduster, and Ghost are pretty fully realized (I don't care for the main flat picking part in Cropduster but when it kicks in at the end... well, wow!).
For a departure, RA has some pretty strong material on it and it took me a long time to "get it". This was disconcerting to me because in 96 when I picked up No Code I immediately appreciated what a departure it was (and it was a serious departure from the first three albums). When I first bought RA in early 03 I gave it a listen and then promptly shelved it for four years because (again, in my opinion) it doesn't really rock thoroughly like PJ normally does and that's my preference. That's not a joke. I didn't listen to it for four years. Intentionally.
Now that I've been listening to it more regularly I find more value in the songs. I'd say give it another spin. It definitely deserves another chance!

That site isn't always right. For example, it has STP's album slated for 2009 also, and I don't think they've even really started on it. The ones listed with the specific dates are dead on, but they don't update the other part with every little rumor whether its right or wrong.
Besides Aug/September isn't lat 09
it sure 'aint early 09.

Please shut the fuck up and enjoy the music
Wow, what a dumb post. We have every right to express our opinions about their music. We pay their bills.
what part of this confuses you:
The Porch
Step out on the porch to discuss Pearl Jam's music, tour, appearances, causes they support, etc. It's all about Pearl Jam here.
I understand your point. In fact I have never done any of the things you suggest: released thousands of albums, spent countless hours in the studio, agreed publishing deals(?), worked with the best sound engineers, producers, and roadies, put my name on setlists, nor played to a billion "ppl" live. I also don't believe that anyone else on this board has either (apologies if anyone has, I don't mean to speak for you)...
But is cursing at anyone involved in these ongoing discussions really an effective way to insert your opinion in or change the tone of a debate? Especially given that the discussion had been entirely civil until your post. Perhaps a more effective way to voice your opinion and change the minds of others would be to set about logically and civilly arguing that everyone with an opposing opinion to yours is incorrect?
You do not have to take anyone's advice which you do not care to, but I offer that you may wish to reconsider your wording in the future. It seemed genuinely rude.
I was infact just being funny. Yes the wording. Never thought about that. Thats why I hate word rather than talk because it came across blunt. I enjoy your debates so Im sorry
Ok. Got it. I too understand how limited this format is for people's abilities to actually express themselves. I think we've all been victims of misinterpretation at some point.
Have a good weekend.
