anyone else dig the counting crows too? I reccommend "Holiday in Spain" , "A Murder of One" , and "Sullivan Street" .. great lyrics, great songs.. Sullivan Street is my favorite Counting Crows song...I've noticed that quite a few of my pearl jam friends also like counting crows.. adam duritz is a great song writer and lyricist..

Pretty much completely agree. August & Everything After is a masterpiece and will always remain one of my favorite albums.

Love them to bits, saw them the other night at Manchester, it was so empty because it was rescheduled but it was a great gig, was right up front. Blind Pilots were fantastic but oh my god The Hold Steadys, I had to be held steady. They were hideous. Im really sorry if anyone likes them but they were the worst band I have ever seen.... ever.

I like The Crows. I think that my favorite is Mrs. Potter from This Desert Life.

Awesome band, although their last album didn't really do much for me. I'll have to give it another listen sometime soon.

August and Everything After is indeed one of the greats. I bought it way back in the day because Mr. Jones was such a huge hit. Then I thought the song got overplayed and, in my stupid teenage mind, thought they were uncool. Revisited the album back in college, picked up their other stuff and have loved them ever since.

I love the Crows, they're amazing live. I met Adam Duritz after a show on the "August & Everything After" UK tour and he was such a lovely guy. I've still got the ticket that he signed for me!

I'm going to the Brixton Academy show next week and I can't wait, it's gonna be special!

I have been getting into CC more and more. I have always been a fan but I just am really starting to listen to them a lot lately. All albums are good, I think my favorite would be recovering the satellites. ALSO, I am really looking for some CC vinyl. Ebay prices are ridiculous as usual so if anyone has any other options please let me know!!

Seriously? That's so odd. I've seen Hold Steady twice and Counting Crows twice. Hold Steady was incredible both times. The Crows were pretty good the first time, but sucked horribly the second time. They played about 9 songs, but somehow it last 2 hours. Their "improv" consisted of breaking down every song at the chorus so Adam could repeat it about 30 times with different inflections. It was painful to watch and hear.

That said, I'm not surprised that the CC fanbase wouldn't get the Hold Steady.

I used to like the CC, but as you can probably tell by now, I'm over them. They're self indulgent at best and incredibly boring at worst. I burned a compilation of their best stuff and that's all I need.

    the crows are not bad.

recovering the satellites is probably the strongest record.

children in bloom is an incredible song.

I can see why alot of ppl dont like CC live, they can labour the point at times. I personally love the way its done live. We cant all like the same stuff thank goodness. But the hold steady, I really was affected by their music and performance. I have never felt so strongly about hating a band. I like to wind the U2 fans up a little but most of the stuff I say is in jest but with these guys I actually mean what I say and cant give them any possitives. I really really dont get how anyone could possibly find them entertaining. His strange frustrated awkward performance is only suitable for hold steady fans

Something about these band makes me mad. I don't know why. They just seem generic and radio friendly. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's as if they don't want people to think they're like that. They just anger me. I've yet to hear a song I like by them. I know I'm in the minority, not dissing anyone who likes them. They're just a band I don't get

They were amazing at the Brixton Academy on Monday. I think this tour has been one of their best ones in terms of the quality of their performances

I don't mind them. I have seen them live twice. The first time I was in Manchester and they played two nights, and when they do that you get a rock night and an unplugged night. We got the unplugged show and it was ok but some of the better tracks (Angels of the Silences, Mr Jones etc) were dreadful because of that. I saw them at Wireless last year and they were good but Duritz seemed a little drunk. My folks saw them in Sheffield recently and my dad says he was falling all over the place.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

I saw the Crows at Birmingham NIA a couple of weeks ago. They were really good. Adam was on top form all night. Blind Pilot were great. Any band with a double bass and a banjo get extra cool points from me. The Hold Steady were utter shite. That guys voice and beat poet style were like nails down a chalk board after the first two songs.
