I'm promoting my 12 year old niece here. She plays in the Louisville Youth Orchestra, and she was the lead violinist for their summer concert a few weeks ago. They played Metallica's Orion. Not bad considering everyone on the orchestra is under 12. She's in the first chair to the left of the conductor, wearing a Ride the Lightening shirt!!! Great closeup of her at the 3:55 mark. I'm proud of her!

    WOOOOOW those kids rock man!
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I wonder why there's so much of this Metallica arranging being done? Do you think it's because of that S & M cd or because of that cello quartet Apocalyptica?

Some cellists at the school I've been working at did a trio arrangement of a song this semester, and a quartet at the school my husband teaches at did a few of their songs too. *shrug*

In a lecture but can't wait to check this out.

As if 12 year olds are being taught to play Metallica!?

The cellist trio could come from Apocolyptica they started as a Metallica cover band
