    definitely not tame... but i wouldn't call it experimental either. it sounds tighter than i'm used to from SY


    seriously, look for it & find it... best new album of '09, IMO

    I have to say I was a bit hesitant about hearing this at first. I'm always being told by people that the newest SY album is awesome/great/a return to form etc etc but I've been let down by so many of their recent releases.

    The Eternal, on the other hand, is... well... awesome! I've only played it twice but I love it already, definitely my favourite SSY record in a loooooong time.

    It's been leaked for a while. It's pretty heavy...very reminiscent of Dirty.

    I heard this last night for the first time.... I like it a lot!

    I've been very happy with this album. Sonic youth seems to just keep putting out good albums time and time again.

    This is a really great album. The sound in my opinion is more similar to Rather Ripped, but almost a heavier version of that album. Can't wait to see them at The Vic.

    Just watched their new video for the song "Sacred Trickster" through their facebook page.
    Kick ass, can't wait to get the album!
    This band are legends and deserve a rock and roll hall of fame induction!

    Finally got it a few days ago. The vinyl was a little late as they apparently got shorted on pressings. What a solid record. Super tight.
    Can't wait to dig into the Battery Park bonus album.

    I guess you ordered direct from Matador and that Daen guy sent you the same email i got - something about its not our fault, wah wah wah, they shorted us! blah blah blah - but we are sorry so here is a free download. but your LP will probably arrive 3 weeks after you were supposed to.

    I kind of feel like they took orders before pressing them.....sort of like those infomercial products, they dont actually make any products until they get a response from millions of people.
