perhaps the most disturbing piece of information from that article:
The band's debut, "My Own Prison," was released on August 26, 1997 and has sold over six million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The follow-up, "Human Clay," bowed in September of 1999 and certified Diamond for sales in excess of 11 million copies.
at the risk of being attacked, I have to say I'm glad to hear this. They were a good band and had some awesome songs despite being a pj copycat. Hopefully we get some more good songs outta this run. Anyone else agree?

i'm not going to attack you, but i will disagree with you. i'm not a fan at all.
I knew this was going to happen wasn't surprised. So does that make the Led Zep tour with Myles Kennedy active soon? That tour will truly be even more embarressing over this one. I saw Creed back when my own prison was their hit song and at a festival. Not that bad honestly. It's more the hype and overplayed media stuff that pisses people off about bands like Creed, Nickelback ect. Yeah, I thought creed was decent live back in 98 for an hour long set, but I wouldn't pay money to see them headline a show. If I got free tickets I'd go though.
Alter Bridge are awesome. And I seriously hope this does not spell the end for them :(
Actually cannot get over how much Alter Bridge own Creed.

This is exactly how I feel . Myles Kennedy is amazing, and raised the level of the ex-Creed boys' games. Alter Bridge kicked ass. Scott Stapp is a huge tool, and Creed is a piece of shit band.

Many of you are wondering how this Creed reunion tour will affect the future of Alter Bridge. No worries, it won’t. I can assure you that as soon as they finish in October we will move forward.
Contrary to false statements that might lead you to believe otherwise, Alter Bridge continues to be paramount to the four of us.
The guys have my full support. It’s a very complex situation to say the least. It had to be done.
I appreciate the fact that so many of you are concerned about our future. With that said, everything is going to be all right. Alter Bridge’s third record is well on it’s way. The guys will embark on their reunion tour, I will make my record, and then we will carry on.

So the good news is that we'll get a Myles Kennedy solo disc and an Alter Bridge disc in the near future. But seeing Creed reunite, even briefly, is a heavy price to pay. Plus I'm pissed that the ex-Creed guys worked so hard the past several years shaking off the Creed stigma, and piss it all away with this announcement. Now they're the goddam Creed guys again. Especially troubling after Tremonti said that they would never share a stage with Stapp again. Idiots.

They never shook off being the Creed guys. Hence why Alter Bridge never reached the level of presence in the music world that they should have. Not like I ever though that this was the end of AB. It makes sense that creed reunite as they were together for over ten years and were friends as well. People grow up and forgive. Alos, it makes sense to tour and release another album which most likely will be nothing but B-sides and outtakes never released. hey are going to make so much damn money it isn't even funny. I am wondering what's up with Scott's so called second solo album that never came out though. It seems like they stuck adeal with Wind-Up records again even though AB left there label.
They're finally out of money; they are gonna have half empty seats; radio stations will have to give out handfuls of freebies

My Own Prison was a good album, but man they are so bland! Ive could never understand why they were so big when there are loads of other similar bands who do it so much better!
