this is what Jerry said on Last FM, if it is him, looks legit
Nobody can replace the late Layne Staley, and that's why we didn't choose a carbon copy to be our new singer. William Duvall is a fantastic singer, with a style of his own, and he does justice for Layne's lyrics.

Trust me when I say this, the new record will blow your mind!

Why don't they change the band name?
You didn't see RATM stick with the same name when Chris joined them.

That's because they consciously wanted to have a whole new "band". The ethos, the style, the message, the songwriting, the influences.

Despite being 3/4 RATM, Audioslave was an entirely different band. It was not a political machine for the members, which RATM was. They could have kept it, and brought a new area of introverted songwriting to the RATM monicker....but they chose not to. If they had chosen to i wouldnt have cared. Some bands like to keep their band as a specific genre, or niche. RATM is a vehicle for political & social causes, raising awareness etc.

Alice In Chains are still playing and writing in Alice In Chains style, but without their deceased bandmate. Power to them.

Oh when O when will they announce a full tour in the UK??? Anyone else getting a bit restless aswell??

I can't go to Sonisphere and I will be so gutted if that's the only show they do.

because audioslave as audislave and not RATM.
It was not toward the end until they started to play RATM and soundgarden songs at their shows, and even then, it was only a few

  • Sorry but I will not be getting their new material.
It is like going to buy a PJ album with another frontman.

Layne overdosed. Sadly. The name AIC should carry on. It means alot to keep the name going as they are a great band!
Refusing to buy a new PJ album with another frontman is an absurd comment especially since Eddie is alive and well. You cannot compare the two bands and ther circumstances as being similar.

I remember seeing on the Sonisphere website that Knebworth is their only 2009 UK show... but hopefully they will come back in 2010 for a proper tour. I saw them in London in 2006 on the first tour with DuVall and it was incredible one of the best gigs i have ever seen. I'm going to Sonisphere too can't wait!

I can't wait for mad season 2...

Duvall ain't bad, and he knows where he comes from. We all miss Layne but this band deserves our ears if they wanna play music. Don't be ridiculous and deny yourself good music in 2009. It's not as easy to find

Wonder how many were in the pre-sale and how many were left for TM. A lot of people were unsuccessful in getting tix. I guess it's to be expected for such a small venue.
  • Was the general sale on Ticketmaster today? I had no idea when there would be a general sale.
