I'm there!! As long as "there" is somewhere near here! Already got tix for the Jones Beach NIN/JA show, waiting for MUSE (preferably w/o U2!) tix to go on sale and waiting patiently for a PJ announcement :D

This is gonna be an expensive summer/fall!!

Should be good, maybe they have a new albulm in the works as well. And since it looks like they are one of the headliners of Lolla, maybe will be built around that.

Interesting. I wonder what the setlist will be like. If it is diverse and not mostly 10,000 days i'll strongly consider it.

yeah totally. i saw them support 10k days 3 times, I dont need to see that same setlist. again.

They need to bring back songs like Hush, H and 4 degrees.

Those 10k Days shows were weak as hell, and it had little to do with the repeated setlists.

I hope the rumour about Lolla is true...I am thinking of going. However, if they are touring this year...OMG Hell yeah I'll attend. Love Tool. I've seen them live a couple of times. and everytime they blow me away!

i saw them in GM place in 06 for the 10K tour and it BLEW ME AWAY. it was my first time seeing them, so nothing to compare to, but the visuals and that stage and my line of sight was perfect. (got into a box for free through a friend) incredible show. THEN saw them about a week later at the Gorge and it just wasnt the same. the setlist being almost identical didnt help things either.

will see them at the drop of a hat though again.

Hadn't heard the tour rumor. Awesome! I've seen them 3 times. Twice on the Lateralus tour and then once on the 10,000 Days tour. Not sure if I'm down with seeing them at Lollapalooza... not really a festival guy.

yep same here. they swapped out right in two for opiate and that was it.

when i saw them in Victoria over a year later the set list was almost identical as well, minus the pot(good riddance) and added FLOOD, which was mega cool.

Tool is not a band built for tour followings a la Pearl Jam, Phish, DMB and so on. Their sets are meticulously planned (can't exactly be spontaneous with a zillion dollar visuals/lightshow) to blast the shit out of you and transport you to another dimension for one night.

And it succeeds every fucking time.

I'll be there this summer, with my very pregnant other half. She's never been, so I'm really looking forward to it.

10,000 Days leaked about a month before my daughter (http://twitpic.com/2cnmt) was born, and to this day no album calms her like that one. I'm serious. Imagine a kid relaxing into Jambi or Rosetta Stoned like a warm bubble bath.

    That's my girl.

Absolutely. They way they have everything set up with the visuals and such, they can't NOT do the same set every night. I liked the Lateralus tour a little better than the 10K, but both were still awesome. A little too much of the floppy penis' for me on the Lateralus shows though.

The most visually intense shows I'll ever see.

perfect way of describing it. it was insane how those visuals on the stage made the band appear to the be swirling around in some trippy dimension.....fuckin incredible.

equally , too bad we couldnt have met up at the gorge! did you see the lines for beer at that particular concert!? some of the worst ive seen. ever

anyone remember how much tickets were last tour?
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
  • anyone remember how much tickets were last tour?

depended on the venues really, but anywhere from $45-$70.

    Yeah exactly.

You still think that they would have at least 4 or 5 set list variations to go with the light shows though.

Also it doesn't change the fact that they need to absolutely start playing songs like Sweat, Hush, H, Eulogy, 4 Degrees, Intolerance, 3rd Eye etc etc again. Hopefully on this tour with no new album to support they will.

Yeah, I agree...when I first saw them they played a couple tracks from Opiate and I loved it.

I'm partial to hear Intolerance, Prison Sex, Hooker W/ A Penis, Pushit, and I don't know if it's just me...but if they actually performed their cover of No Quarter, I'd need to change my skibbies.

This is a fact. They phoned it in. I prefer the Lateralus tours. Excessive weiners or no.

Same here cant stand the same setlist I mean change it up at least a little. I have to saw that gorge show was awesome. When I saw them up in everett I sat up higher and actually enjoyed it more to enjoy the visuals and the lights. So glad those rumors are smashed as the vegas show being the last ever such a great band.

APW has a big announcement on Monday. Tool is strongly rumored to be headlining so I think it's fairly safe to assume that since they announced last week that they will be touring this summer they probably will be there. In which case we will be too :)
