I'm pretty pumped for the new release, but I got concerned when I read on spin.com that Nick Zinner put away his guitar for this album.
  • i can't wait!!! it feels like it's been forever since the last album.
  • I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs. I hope they'll start touring this fall.
    Thanks for posting it. :)

yeah that is worrisome, lets hope the album still rocks though

i don't mind the drum machine beats so much. but i love his raw style jams on the guitar, hopefully not missed on the new record.

i really like the ramones cover they did on sheena is a punk rocker! gotta pick up that cd! :D

Can't wait to see their set at Coachella on Sunday, 4/19. They were a highlight for me when I last saw them there. As hot as the 94 degree heat. YYY are a band I never get tired of. While I love the albums to date, I really love their live shows . OFF THE HOOK !!

    Listening to it now! :D
  • I listened to the album once through for the first time today at the gym. Upon first listen, it's very different from previous Yeah Yeah Yeah's stuff. Lots of synth riffs as reported, more electronic stuff going on. Less guitar, less rock and that "anything can happen" raw vibe in general that they had going for them in Fever to Tell. Almost more like Metric here. All that being said, it's still all great music, just not what you'd expect from this band. I will never like it as much as the previous two, I'm sure of that after one listen. BUT I think with this type of album, their live show will be even more deadly. Interspersing Fever to Tell and Show Your Bones tracks with It's Blitz! stuff will be dynamic. It will be a great mix of music for a live concert setting.

anyways, thats after one listen, so yeah.
what do you guys and gals think?

So far it's 2 listen's for me! There's many cool riffs & beats. Again, with that drum machine, feel of techno '80's style music! I love Karen O with a passion. She's amazing & her vocals / musical style music she creates is what draw's me into their music. If you're going into this album right away wanting that raw thrash in your face Fever To Tell style, it's not here. But close your eyes and relax to the sweet melodies of this record.

    *3rd time listen now! 8-)

Oh yeah! Did I mention that I was in love with Karen O? Must of!

    yes, leaks suck. BUT

my question is: Why are bands still thinking the album has a chance NOT to leak? I mean, it's gonna leak and that's that. They've had a few years to learn from this. I liked what Bloc Party did, just one day, the album is streaming on their website and "up". No media, no press, nothing.

    anyways,

I will be buying this, no question, hopefully on vinyl.

Fever to tell was never pressed was it? Its the only thing i'm missing on record.
