What things do you like/hate about LA?

I used to be a huge Bulls fan, as I grew up liking MJ, but the NBA has changed to such a 'thug' league, and don't really have a favorite in the sport anymore. Only start to watch when the second round of the playoffs begin. I do enjoy rooting against the Lakers though, so to answer your question, at times, yes, I'm a Clipper fan as well as the Celts. Was a beautiful thing to see Kobe get embarassed in that final game :D

OK, you're one of those guys. Yeah, a certain percentage of SoCal people always like whatever team happens to be playing against the Lakers that year. They're almost always Clippers fans on the side (and Angels) but until the Angels finally won, the biggest focus was on being different or something.

Was that final game Kobe's fault? I thought it was more that they had no center, and the Celtics out-muscled them because of that.

So what made you choose the Clippers originally? I mean presumably you were around in the 80's, way before Kobe. What reason did you have for hating the Lakers back then? And follow ... the Clippers?

We were very lucky to have those guys. And Vinny is still awesome. He has been impressing me on the simulcasts lately. The guy is in his 80's and still sharp as a tack.

And I met him last year!

I try to watch when I can on the baseball package. I watch Chick Hearn sometimes in his later years on the NBA package.

Ive never been to either although would like to visit both at some point, but know lots of people who have been. My uncle said he liked LA but felt more comfortable in New York, said it was more like home and it was more real. Id like to go to California as well though definitely, and i much prefer it when the sun is shining, really hate the rain. Seriously considering packing and moving to Australia to work within the next couple years anyway.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

K, lets clear this up...I'm not a Clippers fan. Dont dislike em, but not a huge fan of the NBA...period. Just like whatever team is playing the Lakers. And in any other series, will pick someone, anyone. Thats the easiest way to put it. I liked watching the Showtime Lakers as a youngster, but the first real 'team' I rooted for was the Bulls, circa MJ.
  • LA is a great town. I moved there from Cleveland about 3 years ago. If you can't find something you love in LA, you aren't looking. Lots of great music, restaurants, museums, and beaches. Every week there are at least 3 sweet movie screenings for classic or independent film. And if you work on film/tv, there is no better place to be. I do props, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Yeah, the traffic sucks, but it's worth it.

Never been out there and I'm sure it's nice but I certainly dislike the LAKERS.

I imagine LA didn't compare to Cleveland in terms of work!

Yeah. If they ever make a movie in Cleveland, it's on accident.

I grew up in Virginia, a fabulous place, and I think about moving back but the humidity and the snow - I don't know if I could do it. I hate the traffic in LA, but the traffic sucks back in Virginia, too.

I work in TV so it's definitely the place to be career-wise and yes you can find love here if you look, I did.

Love the beach, the mountains, sitting by the pool. Having a back yard where the kids can play.

Hate the Dodgers. Like the Giants, yes I know the Giants are down 5-1 in the 5th and suck this year.
