NFL Prediction Time!

AFC East
New England (Will remain dominant, but not 16-0 dominant)
Buffalo Bills (Another year for Trent Edwards will keep Buffalo at #2 in shitty division)
Miami Dolphins (One/Two punch at RB and a serviceable QB will net the Dolphins 5 wins)
New York Jets (One mess of a football team - will not improve from last season)

AFC North
Pittsburgh Steelers (Big Ben could move in to elite QB status)
Cleveland Brows (Ain't buying the hype - tough as nails schedule)
Cincinnati Bengals (Teetering on an "A" frame roof, which way do they go?)
Baltimore Ravens (No established QB, ancient defense, new coaching staff)

AFC South
Indianapolis Colts (13/14 win seasons are over for Indy. Toughest division in football)
Jacksonville Jaguars (Garrard is as efficient as they come)
Houston Texans (If not in AFC South, Houston is shoe-in for playoffs)
Tennessee Titans (One of the best last place teams in the NFL)

AFC West
San Diego Chargers (Their time has come to take the next step - will pull away from AFC West early)
Kansas City Chiefs (With a healthy LJ and an improved defense, the Chiefs need to establish their QB)
Denver Broncos (Broncos should not have won even 7 games last year)
Oakland Raiders (Overpaid for new talent, but Raiders will improve - could fight out of the cellar)

AFC Playoff Teams
New England
Pittsburgh
Indianapolis
San Diego
Jacksonville
Houston

AFC Champ
San Diego Chargers

NFC EAST
Dallas Cowboys (Expect another great regular season from the Cowboys despite NFC East parity)
Philadelphia Eagles (With a healthy McNabb and dangerous Westbrook, Eagles improve from 8-8)
Washington Redskins (Zorn will have the Redskins playing to their potential)
New York Giants (Giants will still be decent, but NFC East is the 2nd toughest division in football)

NFC North
Minnesota Vikings (A real threat to keep the Cowboys from running away from rest of NFC)
Green Bay Packers (With or without Favre, Packers finish second in NFC North)
Detroit Lions (Devastating late season schedule kept Lions from finishing with at least 9 wins last year)
Chicago Bears (A total mess)

NFC South
New Orleans Saints (Big bounce back for the Saints)
Carolina Panthers (Healthy Delhomme brings Panthers back to relevance)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Fluke division champ last year)
Atlanta Falcons (Another long year for the Falcons)

NFC West
Seattle Seahawks (Window closing quick on Seattle - top tier defense will keep Seattle best in West)
Arizona Cardinals (Will challenge Seattle for Division title - all comes down to QB play)
San Francisco 49ers (If Shaun Hill can get the gig, 9ers will improve)
St Louis Rams (Will improve from 3 win season, but O-Line still needs work. Fuck Josh Brown)

NFC Playoff Teams
Dallas Cowboys
Minnesota Vikings
New Orleans Saints
Seattle Seahawks
Green Bay Packers (With Favre)
Philadelphia Eagles
Carolina Panthers (Without Favre in GB)

NFC Champion
Minnesota Vikings

Super Bowl Champion
San Diego Chargers

Unfortunately for the Steelers, they're in the AFC. Patriots/Colts/Chargers.....then I would make a case for the Steelers (Or Jags). Put the Steelers in the NFC, and they're, well, hmmmmm.....top three, not top 4. Cowboys and Vikings are as good or better (Cowboys are better than the Steelers.....regular season).

I don't buy into that "they're in the AFC" stuff. And what makes the Colts or Chargers better than them anyway? the fact that they went a game further in the playoffs than the Steelers did last year? And I can't believe you said the Vikings are better than them. That's insane. They don't even have a quarterback.

Titans are OK at best...horrible draft not getting Young any talent at the WR position.

even with a healthy LJ he won't get much done with no line to open up lanes. they will be one of the worst teams in the league.

i agree with the Chargers though...with Chambers starting the season for them and LT and Gates...and if Rivers can play and act like a man, this team will be good.

I'm down for that! Well, all expect the part about the Seahawks winning. But hell, even that would be a good time.

I was the only person in the NW waving a terrible towel during that superbowl. If I don't cheer for the Hawks this time, I might get my nuts chopped off :)

Minnesota? Is this some kind of sick joke? Minnesota hasnt proved anything. Adrian Peterson had one good season and if he gets injured......they have no offense. Crappy quarterback and not exactly stud receivers either. Their defense isnt bad but they didnt stop us at all last season.

Its going to be hard for the Steelers, outside of the ravens and bengals, they have far and away the hardest schedule in the NFL. I see them 10-6 and winning the AFC north. They are going to score points, and will probably be a team no one wants to play in the playoffs. But new England has a such an easy schedule, no way they should not have home field again. Cowboys should be the best team in the NFC, and maybe Green Bay if Favre is their QB.

The Lions will still blow, I will still scream and yell at my tv, even though mentally Im fully prepared to watch them lose in every possible fashion. That's not a prediction. That's a guarantee. I know. I'm going way out on a limb there. I am still pumped for football though.

  • I hope this is the Cowboys year. I still wonder about the WRs and Roy Williams, but the team is looking very good overall. If the pack actually keeps Farve, they could contend.

    I figure:

Cowboys vs. Colts or Patriots or San Deigo.

    Like most are saying.

That's retarded..the new offensive line alone will win them more games than last year..lol....not to mention, they have significantly improved on D..well, on paper of course ;)..

Pittsburgh Steelers will win the AFC North because of the Cleveland schedule, 10-6

    AFC South
Jacksonville Jaguars will win the AFC South thanks to Manning's injury recovery time, 11-5

As a Niner Fan I appreciate your optimism. The defense is what's going to get us to the next level this season. Patrick Willis is a beast.

love my Niners. I think Martz is key, he realizes the issues of the past 3 seasons, he knows how special Gore is, they have upgraded the WR's greatly, though still don't have a primetime WR, and he set's QB's up to be successful.

the offense will help the defense play at the level they a capable of. Last year it was so freaking ridiculous how much time the D was on the field.

Niners will win 10, win the west, and by years end the conversation about rebuilding will be over, it'll be about tweaking for a championship :)
