If i dont post in this section, then the thread will hardly get looked at (due to low numbers of people looking at that section of the message boards). but i'd feel guilty posting the actual lyrics up here as theres a section for it.

But basically im bad at writing lyrics, so am asking people to complete 3 poems (as poems, as you dont have a melody to write to) and if i use it, you'll be credited on our new EP 'Into the Silence' (Ridgid Records). Yes im desperate. Yes im an awful lyric writer (i also get really paranoid friends of mine will think i'm writing about them!). so sorry about that feel a bit embaressed so please don't rip into me. i know lyrics should be from the heart, honestly i've tried and i just write CHEESE. thanks for any help you can offer, you'll find the stuff in the other thread.

mucho love! x

    Answer: Cover songs.
Hint: Make sure you do them different than the original... like DEVO's 'Satisfaction' different.

im not a very confident singer really. i get particulaly paranoid friends will think im writing about them, and find it extremely difficult not to write your typical depressive angst. while lyrics should be from the heart, i dont think they should be from a shit-lyric-writing heart haha.

and covering songs naaa, im a pretty decent song writer in terms of music, and am not bad with melodies either. its just lyrics i struggle with, i dont want people to laugh at me (guess im vain!)

Well i've got cds on my self with worse lyrics so i wouldn't worry about it. Writing is all about practise. Do it often, wether its for a song or just a line or two in a notebook for inspiration later.

i do write the odd verse of a poem and tend to really like it at the time.
i'll come back a week later in a different mood and think 'IM SUCH A LOSER'
    haha
