  • this is sort of embarrassing:

when my husband and i went to the gorge to see pearl jam, we had a rented suv and stayed at a campground...
well, i had a small zippered bag where i had a few pairs of earrings and stuff...
don't even know why i brought it...
    but anyway...
when we came home I could not find that little bag for the life of me.. i scoured our two little travel bags (small roll-ons).
could not find the little pouch of my cheap but favorite jewelry.
i came to the conclusion that someone at the campground had taken it from the suitcase when we were away from the car.

so.... this year we were going to use the suitcase for something and lo and behold.. there;s the little pouch, practically in plain sight!
I was overjoyed... nothing valuable, just stuff i liked.
but i was also sad that i had come to the conclusion that someone would have stolen from us on that very special weekend.

so glad to have recovered my stuff but almost happier that my suspicion was so wrong!

My friend had the coolest one. His uncle or someone played piano on this record and got a copy of it, but he had it stolen or something like that. Like a year ago they found the record in a record store with his name on the front.

okay fess up...which one of us did you have pegged as the klepto? ;):p

I pulled up this thread because today i found one of my silver rings that i had lost like 3 years ago. I was in my son's old room and I was looking for some specific tacks and I thought that i had seem some at one time in a container in his room that mostly just has a few pennies in it. I didn't find the tacks(not that it was any big deal) however i did find my ring. it wasn't expensive or anything sentimental it was just one that i had always liked that I bough like 9-10 years ago. when i lost it I remember searching for it everyfreakingwhere, I thought for sure that this ring would never be seen again. I'd love to know how it ended up where it did.

that weekend was very special...how could meeting you have not been? :)

    *hugs*

  • cool stories, jeanie.

couple years ago i lost a watch that my wife bought for me. i was really pissed because i loved that watch and it just happened to vanish without a trace. i turned our apartment upside down looking for that friggin' thing. then about a year later we bought new furniture. when i was taking our old, broken down couch to the curb, my watch fell out of the frame. i was so happy to finally find that thing. then one week later i was pissed again. while at work, i had to wear an anti-static wristband for a job i was working on. i took my watch off and put it on my workstation. i completely forgot to pick it up when i left that night. i came in the next day and it was gone. i asked everyone on first shift (i work 2nd shift) if they'd seen it but nobody did. i have a pretty good idea of who took it, but no proof.

I lost my LBC pearl jam shirt for like two years.

The best thing I found was when I was randomly looking through posters I saw a box in my closet. In it was my bubbler that had been missing since high school.
