No Code reissue question.

How do you sell out a presale?  I'm not in the record business but wouldn't you just make them to order? Think there will be more of these?

So the prior reissue said first time mastered for vinyl by Bob Ludwig ....so how is this any different save being clear?
  • Options
Yea, agreed. Is the material used to create vinyl in short supply? Why not make enough to satisfy demand as opposed to creating another "hard to get" "collectible" that will be sold for incredibly inflated prices?! I love PJ but I feel like this is typical of them. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Think this was just pre sale for the 'clear edition' - the regular drops 13th August....i think

Because they were preselling x,xxx amount of copies. Yeah an open order would be better, but then it would be a 6-9 month PO and people would lose their shit after waiting 5 months. Possibly, but most likely to raise money for the vitalogy foundation.

I never get these hot items anymore working a day job. I don't know if you guys are all retired or what. So for once I actually did see this email 20 minutes after it came - which Is rare. And it still wasn't good enough...they were sold out. I don't get why they are making so few.

For a band who doesn’t like the secondary market, they sure did limit the hell out of their merchandise to drive up that price on said market.

Oh well, like someone else said, I’ve got other things to worry about.

Man if it's a choice between having to wait longer and everybody getting a better opportunity to get s*** they want. I'd rather wait.

If they waited it would miss the August 27th, 25th Anniversary date for release. With Covid delays maybe this was all that could be guaranteed.
It seems strange though that they continue to release limited vinyl right after or before RSD when fans would have a heads up and more equal chance of getting a release. Seems like a somewhat logical solution.

The only companies that offer open orders are record clubs: Third Man, Vinyl Me Please, etc. All other companies always issue a certain number of colored vinyl available.
Now, should they give us the actual number pressed and only allow each person to order one only? Definitely. Other than that, I don’t what else they can do. Sometimes, we just miss out on shit. It happens

Said it before and apparently will say it again, as a vinyl collector, it sucks missing out on Pearl Jam vinyl as a 10C member once again.
