You’re the only person, anywhere, ever who doesn’t think Alpine Valley is awesome. Must be lonely.
I'm quite OK with having my own opinion.

I insulted you? Please. You may want to thicken that skin.

Many of these amphitheatres (sheds) are located far enough from the nearest city (sticks) to make getting there more difficult than necessary for traveling fans.

This includes Mansfield which is 30 minutes from me. I can't imagine getting upset because someone said as much.

Isnt pj30 supposed to be in 2020? They started in 1990 and celebrated their 10 year anniversary in 2000
    No 2021. They did PJ20 in 2011
PJ20 in 2011 was a year late.  Let's not argue with math.
I am not arguing with math. I am just going by what the band has laid out in the last 2 milestones. 2011 was consider PJ 20 a year late or not. 2016 marked their 25th anniversary according to them. If they were going to do something 2021 would follow that pattern. I hope it is next year myself.
Their first official anniversary celebration was in 2000 - 10 years from the date of the first gig on 10-22-1990. Maybe celebrating PJ20 in 2011 rather than 2010, and their 25 year anniversary in 2016 rather than 2015 was the same logic that they're now applying to the Fan Club singles! Everything since 2011 is now always 1 year late!:lol::lol:
Most likely everything will be two years late soon, so expect PJ30 to take place in 2022
    225xxx - 6/28/00, 10/20/01, 10/22/01, 9/11/06, 9/22/06, 9/23/06, 6/18/07, 6/26/07, 8/15/09, 6/25/10, 6/30/10, 7/4/12, 7/5/12, 7/7/12, 7/10/12, 6/26/14, 6/28/14, 7/3/18, 7/5/18

Ha! Does this work the other way as well? Does an 11 year gap between anniversaries 10 and 20 mean it hasn't really been six years since Lightning Bolt?

I’d much prefer if this was held in a major city - New York, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles.  More flights, more hotels, subways, etc.

I do like the idea of it being in the middle of the country. Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Chicago, St Louis, New Orleans, etc.

I do not care where it is to be honest just acknowledge it like they did for PJ20. They did nothing for PJ25 which is fine but they hyped it up in 2015 and yes we got a great tour but nothing specific to the anniversary unless you count the ballpark shows I guess.

I’m not personally insulted. I live in Milwaukee and have no affiliation with the venue itself. But being from southeast Wisconsin, I know that the community around Alpine Valley has a lot of pride in the Amphitheatre and I doubt they’d appreciate it being called a “shed in the sticks”. I just thought there were more respectful ways of making your point.

If some people see the location or lack of accommodations in the immediate area as a limitation and don’t want to go, fine. It’ll be easier for me to get a ticket. I’ve been going to concerts there since I was a kid. The fact that PJ, who could’ve chosen any venue for PJ20, selected Alpine for the anniversary meant a lot to me. Venues like that have always been a part of the band’s history and, for me, it makes me love and respect them even more.

Like I said, I live in Milwaukee. The drive to and from East Troy doesn’t take that long and there are plenty of hotels and AirBnBs here. I’d still prefer seeing PJ there than at the Summerfest grounds or the new Bucks arena (which will also be awesome). Alpine Valley is also permitting people to camp on the grounds after concerts, which is really cool.

Before people remind me of all the reasons that arena shows are easier and aren’t complicated by weather, and bigger markets are easier for fans who can afford to travel for shows, etc, I get it. We don’t need to go back over all that. But I for one am grateful that this band loves playing outdoors and isn’t afraid of some of the logistical challenges of playing different venues for us fans who appreciate that kind of experience. There’s something here for all of us.

If it is in a city, it needs to be in the middle of the country. That was one of the best things about PJ20. It was accessible for everyone.
Not really. It just meant it was an equal pain for everyone. Seems like most travel for these big events anyway, so it doesnt really matter which direction I am traveling.

For sure!  I've been able to introduce 6 different people to their first PJ shows (2 of whom have gone on to their 2nd w/me), met some other really cool people along the way, got to see my favorite band in 3 cities and 5 venues I've never been to, finally got to see them in my home state, and at Wrigley Field during the Cubs World Series run!  It's been fun!

Which one of you taught me the rules to cornhole? I'm gonna need a refresher course.

I think I'd remember the rules a little better if I didn't have a beer in my hand every time I've played it.
