Well, I thought I had a reason for analog. I never said I was good at math.

I know, I know...another thread, but this is a bit different.

Last year during the Black Friday sale, I downloaded several HD shows for one cent per show. I did so using my download code.

Given the price of the HD downloads (about $15-20 each), the $20 difference is the same as the HD files.

Considering the codes are good as long as the membership is valid...

If you're in to HD files, you may want to consider analog membership.

    So you're paying $20 for a $10 coupon?

I'll admit I'm making an assumption, but the Black Friday discount brought the HD files down in price.

    $10 -- ALAC-HD/FLAC-HD reflecting Black Friday sale
    -$9.99 -- Analog coupon code
    $0.01 -- Out of pocket

    Yes, I understand. It's $10 off.

If I used the codes, then getting $10 off a bootleg is a pretty good part of the deal. But I missed the sale (and who knows if/when they will do it again) and I'm not prepared to pay the $10 extra to get FLAC-HD or download MP3s so they end up going to waste.

I give points for creativity.  Let's cut OP a break, it isn't easy trying to rationalize analog membership in 2019.

I don't have a problem paying 20 dollars, that's only like two visits to the doctor here in Sweden.

But I don't see any reason (for me) to stay analog.

So analog now means what - you get a t-shirt? What's analog about that?

And without the coupon it would still be only $10. So you still paid $20 for a $10 coupon. Basically paid $20 so you can get a $10 file for free.
Using the same logic, apply that $20 you spent on analog, and instead of getting 1 HD show for free, you can buy 2 HD shows for the price you paid for the membership.
Still cant see any rational behind analog, and if your only interest is HD files it makes even less sense.

Yeah, the thing needs a makeover. If anything, maybe get a discount ($5 or $10 or so) off the Vault vinyl.

You'd really just be shifting the money around...still spending it eventually.

$20 for HD files by self.
$10 for HD files on sale.
$20 for HD files discount plus code, shirt, magazine. (Or I suppose $10 for HD files, $10 for shirt/magazine.)

Now if you buy the analog membership and the HD files without using the code...sorry is the fool...

I think I was originally comparing the price of the regular and not applying the code.

You're essentially buying the shirt now whereas it used to be straight-up free.

Bottom line...I need a tour...we all need one.

    Didn’t he pay $20 for a shirt, a magazine and a $10 coupon?
