That's right. I want this new album to be the rebirth of Mr Stone Gossard. Like Mikey owned Avocado, we are expecting you to step up, grab this new album by the balls and yell "hell yeah"!! I want solid riffs that smack you in the face. Bring back that hard edge and catchy tune. Hell even grow your hair long!! I want the old Stone back.

You need to own this new album Mr Gossard and leave us in awe............

You with me Jamily?

I'd like Stone to step up and get that Brad disc released.

Oh, I'm with you on the sound...though Stone's moved on to growing a beard rather than a ponytail, and that's okay too, former Mr. Sensitive Ponytail Man!

with brendan back i want to see some MAJOR collaboration between EVERYONE! would be great to see stone come through with some gems like he did for yield (all those yesterdays, in hiding, solo on DTE) but i would like it even more to feel tons of influences flowing perfectly from one song to the next... definitely a stone solo... maybe a stone vocal song... definitely a matt vocal song for the first time ever!! turn jeff up some! im just glad to know that i wont have to worry about the production this time like i do with avacado

    EVERYONE step up!!! im excited!

Stone is the man but i think that Matt Cameron should take the reins a bit more now that hes got tenure.

    agree 100%!

im not saying anything against matt mike jeff or eds song writing skills, but when it comes to laying down quality music none of them beat stone! and its apparent in the first 2 albums when stone did most of the writing of the music. i say give him some more creative power over the music this time and let him work his magic once again!

Sorry, i don't want any Stone vocals. Mankind was enough for a lifetime.
Good evening San Diego, I'm Ron Burgundy
And I'm Veronica Corningstone, Tits McGee is off tonight...
  • Stone has been in decline recently..He was all over Yield & Binaural, but since then not much. Ok Bushleaguer, All Or None & Life Wasted. Thats it really, for the last 2 albums.

For a man who penned Alive, Black, Even Flow, Daughter, Evolution, Garden, Of The Girl, Fatal, this is quite worrying...

    I agree.......sorry... I LOVE Stone's riffs but there's a reason Ed's the singer.....

Whenever anyone else sings it just seems like a novelty track and means i'm probably gonna skip it everytime I play the record

BUT, I'm all for more of Stone's music :)

I love watching Stone in concert 1992/1993. The man totally controlled and added so much to their sound and style. He was so playful with his guitar, especially in songs like Porch and I've got a feeling. The man absolutely owned it and showed why he was the president of pearl jam. He was given much respect and he filled all the room he got with awsome licks, riffs and incredible improvisation. I really felt his playing back then, it hit me in a way mike has never managed! So fucky and groovy!! Damn, I miss old school Stone!

He is now a shadow of what he used to be and its a shame really. Seems to me he is a bit tired and takes less and less responsibility. He still does his thing though and as long as he doesnt stop playing the guitar, im happy!

But the dude used to be something really special! Lets hope he gains some new inspiration for this new album!

NOTHING beats Stone's songwriting, musically. Footsteps, Alive, Once, Breath, In Hiding, Life Wasted, Animal, and many more! Pearl Jam would not sound the way it does without him.

I think it's time for the band to just let Stone come up with like 30 fucking blistering grunge riffs and just combine/switch them around to make some sick songs.

  • can we just get the band to drop all the fucking punk rock songs?

i am sick of the boring riffs that all sound like Hail Hail (a song i love, but seriously "Save you" was totally just Hail Hail part 2, as well as a shit ton of others)

I think the point is that most of their harder songs now have too much of a punk influence. And really, it's time for that to stop.

They need more songs like Even Flow and Animal in my opinion.

This is why Stone did a solo album, he needs to do another one if we want to hear more singing. Please give me more.

He's moving over and letting everyone else shine for awhile. Don't worry soon enough he'll take the bull by the horns.

He's going to turn around and do what Ed told him to do....Go back to playing bass. j/k

    Just a funny thing....

I went to Bonnaroo with some friends who used to be into PJ, but lost interest after Ten/Vs (yes, they're still my friends) The first thing out of my buddy's mouth after they take the stage....
