I don't mind if Ed is drunk, but a bunch of drunks being paraded on stage, butchering a great song in front of a hometown crowd just smacks of laziness. I would go to a karoake bar if I wanted that scene.

    Also, I don't like Mudhoney. :-)
It is a birthday party first and foremost and wouldn't it be lame if only a couple friends sang Happy birthday. Keep in mind there are other musicians involved than just Mudhoney, and they would love an opportunity to stand on a stage with HOF musicians. There is also musicians that have lost a friend that might want a chance to say goodbye properly to a lost friend, and to the fans. This all is projections of headlining named bands as well. Officially Mudhoney is not on the main stage at all, but one on the side soo...
But I  do I hate encores from any band and Never stay. They are  artist and I don't complain how a painting is signed at the end, just enjoying the painting, but I do know........
!Complaining about a free concert and still attending smacks of laziness!

I was more thinking about when Mudhoney gets up there with PJ to help with Kick Out the Jams. UGH. Pure torture.

Great for them.  Hopefully the mudhoney guys stay off the stage at Safeco.  They can do whatever they want, but I think most PJ fans aren't on board with their drunken second encore collaborations.
I'm always down for a PJ/Mudhoney collabs. So much musical history with those guys. Viva La Mudhoney!

Now I’m really hoping for a Mudhoney/PJ collaboration at Seattle2 and the Green River reunion on Saturday!
That would just rock.  Maybe they all do a cover of Outshined or My Wave for Chris.  The possibilities are endless.

It says at the bottom "and a few more".. maybe Green River? :bring_it:
We went to the Alki community meeting with Subpop, and we asked flat out it if it was Greenriver and got a big smile back with assurance the historical band will be announced on this Friday the 27th.
Much like the guy working for Mopop couldn't say anything about the PJ exhibit, the home shows and Alki SPF30 were announced at the same time and planned out in advance months ago. This is projected to bring 40,000 to a beach capable of holding 5,000. Its well planned and spread out with low community impact.  The historical log home museum  has a new exhibit with music memorabilia from local musicians  and yes Cornell was a long time member and donor so you can hang out at a place he was a part of. The brick is in the courtyard of the museum . Eddie Vedder, the Sonics, Mark Arm and Ben Shepherd  lived in the area and may have some cool, personal stuff donated to the  display..
    Museum is free as well.
Any word on this? Been eagerly looking for the update but have yet to hear anything about GR. Instead say the Father John Misty has been added. I know that’s a huge “get” but I’m not a fan. Am very much hoping for some exciting news!

Heartily seconded.  I need the cloning technology improved ASAP to manage to be in both places at once.  Such different bands but both in my personal top 5.

Something to keep in mind is on that weekend of August 11 and 12, northbound lanes of I-5 will be reduced to 2 lanes for repaving from Swift/Albro south of the West Seattle bridge to downtown. So, if you are coming from the southend into downtown that weekend, it's going to be a traffic nightmare.

    For sure - that's a shame.
I remember when RNDM played Vancouver the same night as Bruce Springsteen. As a big RNDM fan, a HUGE Joseph Arthur fan, and also as a Springsteen fan who has never seen Bruce before, that really really sucked for me, lol. I hate it when that happens.

So looking forward to this, but not a fan of the scheduling. I love Wolf Parade, definitely one of the better Canadian bands of the past decade or so. I've seen them live a few times and they put on a great show. Would have to pick them over Mudhoney, but if Mudhoney turns into Green River, I'll be running across the beach as fast as I can!
