"Into The Wild" pose??

OK, so I'm new here, but I've been a PJ fan since 92 like most of you. Been back & forth over the years with albums, but fell back in when Ed put out Into the Wild...then turned back to the PJ albums I kinda put off and boy was I missin out!
My question, as it's been a source of debate between certain circles: what is the shadow pose of Ed's on the "Into The Wild" album and posters? I don't even want to suggest what some of my thoughts were, as I'm sure to be ripped apart, but if anyone can help put it in place for me?

    i dont know but all i know is that that picture wasn't specifically shot for into the wild, it was shot years before that album came out. it was just used in the back cover of the itw soundtrack

    I know it was of Ed, couldn't have been too many years ago due to the lenght of the hair. I just find it intriguing and when I look at it in different ways, I see different things...

    This was discussed at length around here a few weeks back...apparently it is an old long board surfing pose - anyone have a link to the thread?
