What was your first Pearl Jam bootleg purchase?

JojoRiceJojoRice Kennesaw, GA Posts: 3,915
With hundreds of bootlegs and countless shows, I was just wondering what was the first bootleg you ever purchased?

For me it was in 2001. I made my first bootleg purchase at the Media Play in Kennesaw, Georgia. I purchased the Atlanta 2000 show. I remember them having other shows for sale at the store but went with Atlanta because I wasn't able to go to the show. I listened to that bootleg non stop for weeks! 16 years later, it's still one of my favorite boots.

Unauthorized bootleg circa 1993/94 called "New Songs"
cost $75 on CD and had almost every live version of the Vitalogy songs from the Vs. tour.
pretty much ruined Vitalogy for me as "Nothingman" was the only "new" song on it when I got it.

still have my Maxwell recording of the Knoxville 1998 show that I did on my Sony Walkman stereo mics.
I wonder what it sounds like in comparison to the version circulating?

Actually I stand corrected of my very own self... Katowice II was mine as well. Totally brain-farted on the Euro leg being released before the US legs.

Both Katowices and the Toronto show when they were released. Prior to that I'd ascribed to Jimmy Page's philosophy that there was a reason bootlegs weren't released officially (other that trading Grateful Dead shows, lol). Pearl Jam helped me get over that idea though, lol.

Bootleg or a Pearl Jam "Bootleg"? Ie pearl jam calls their live albums bootlegs, but they're not really bootlegs, they're live albums, because they're legal and authorized.

My first bootleg: Delta Tapes and Steppin' Stones

My first Pearl Jam Live Album: the 3 disc dissident set. My first of the bootleg series: Boise, Portland, and Seattle x2 (saw the last four shows of that tour).

My first purchase was in Munich, Germany in 1997; even flow live in the USA. Probably the one remaining souvenir I have from my exchange trip. Saw it in a record store and probably over paid for it. First live recording I had heard at that point.

LO2L was next and then Chicago 2000 from the official releases.

    It's a hopeless situation...

It was either Black & White (with included cardboard cover), All Night Thing or Rockin' In The Free World (Zurich). The Zurich bootleg was the most expensive single CD bootleg on the market. $40 CDN. Bought @ Taz Records. Good times!

The Dissident set was my first official too.

I got that one. $75 bucks? WHOA!!! Usually the 2 CD sets were that much. I tried to avoid bootlegs that were not full shows. These compilations were a hit or miss if there was more then 2 or 3 songs that I have never heard or were in my collection.

No Fuckin Messiah 2, and a record store near me was selling copies of Pittsburgh 98 on tape so I bought that. First official, one of the Jones Beach 2000 shows. I can't remember which one.

Didn't start buying until relatively recently. Toronto 2011-09-11 and -12 were my first official purchases. The first one is still wrapped since Google play was giving away the mp3 of that one for free!
