Does New Hampshire have a drug problem or is this fake news too?

The whole god damn country has a drug problem! So, it's safe to say that New Hampshire does as well. And, no Trump and Sessions, it's not pot or crack or whatever minorities are doing- it's white collar, hard working Americans getting hooked on painkillers they shouldn't have been prescribed in the first place.

    Signed,
an American who got hooked on painkillers he shouldn't have been prescribed in the first place
Read an article that Sessions and the DOJ are going to use technology and machine learning to identify off trends for docs and pharmacists that are prescribing painkillers.  I think this is a great idea.
I work in the Insurance Industry.  We have been warning of an opioid epidemic for at least a decade now.  We have been using this type of technology for at least a decade now.
Better late than never.  This has clearly been a very long time coming.
I think you're missing the point. That technology isn't new, and has not helped solve the problem.
bingo.  we know who the bad doctors are.  in most states, patients can go to the doctor of their choosing.  hint: it's the one that gives them drugs.

If you've forgotten, a public service reminder that Mueller and his team, particularly the Treasury's Financial Crimes Unit, is following the money, from Russia with love and a PTAPE, all the way to impeachment.

Me thinks Putin sent a copy of the PTAPE to Donny Boy. 755.

This is an excellent article on the grand jury situation.  I guess we should start calling it a nothingsandwhich now.   Any day now.
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/grand-jury-robert-mueller-trump-russia-what-to-know-1.4236184

As the saying goes: "A federal grand jury could indict a ham sandwich." As for the "indicting a ham sandwich" analogy, Trusty feels that's overplayed. He cautions against people getting ahead of themselves.

"Literally what we're doing right now is a routine check that we have bread, ham, mustard and cheese — just the basic building blocks of an investigation," he says. "Don't read it as doomsday, or X months or weeks before an indictment of the following people." Grand juries can last between 12 and 18 months, or even years, depending on the complexity of the case.

Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both ideas are overwhelming. AE

Mueller is requesting documents from the White House concerning Flynn now.

  • Not sure why the Donald Trump thread was closed but here are the latest tweets that still won't lead to the impeachment of President Trump.....

The Fake News Media will not talk about the importance of the United Nations Security Council's 15-0 vote in favor of sanctions on N. Korea! How much longer will the failing nytimes, with its big losses and massive unfunded liability (and non-existent sources), remain in business?  I think Senator Blumenthal should take a nice long vacation in Vietnam, where he lied about his service, so he can at least say he was there.

Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both ideas are overwhelming. AE

Both Blumenthal and Trump escaped serving by way of (bullshit) deferments, so have presidents vp and Congress persons that pushed/voted for our more recent wars. Blumenthal thru string pulling joined the marine reserves almost certain/guaranteed he wouldn't end up in nam. Yes Blumenthal served as a marine reserve, Trump didn't serve in shit. My question what's worse, not serving in the marine reserves or lieing for years about serving in Vietnam (for political gain). IMO nothing compares to stolen valor, it's indefensible but yet you will see pundits on tv defending Blumenthal.

While what Blumenthal did for political gain is indefensible, at least he is a man and owned up to it and apologized. The person currently occupying the white house for the time being (however short the stay may be) has never been man enough to apologize for anything....ever. And for someone who completely dodged the draft entirely to publicly shame someone who served, albeit stateside, is just disgusting. It's in line with previous statements he's made about joking about the getting the purple heart and saying Mcain's not a war hero yada yada yada. I don't understand how any vet can support this clown.

The bar is so extremely low for the guy currently occupying the white house that the embarrassing stuff he said yesterday will be washed away by whatever embarrassing stuff he says or tweets today.........though the weather is nicer so I suspect they'll be a 5 hour break of dumb stuff coming out of his mouth at some point today.

    UGH.

Not sure why the Donald Trump thread was closed but here are the latest tweets that still won't lead to the impeachment of President Trump.....

    UGH.
Truth. Although Trump probably believes that "Let's play two" refers to golf, so more like 10 hours and then a burnt steak with ketchup while his cronies praise his cheating scores and MAGA victories.
    It's a hopeless situation...

It's one thing to dodge a draft. It's quite another to mock the service of others who did their duty when you've dodged a draft.

I was referring to McCain... but his comments towards Blumenthal are kind of similar.

Exactly right. I would dodge a draft since I don't believe in conscription, and think forcing young people to kill others for illegitimate reasons is an atrocity. But I also wouldn't be calling out people who did serve. And I'd never put myself in a position to command a military that I actively worked to avoid being a part of.

When I took my son to register for the selective service I made it clear that if the draft ever was re-instituted we'd leave the country. No way would I let me son be forced into service. He's free to sign up (although we'd have a lot of conversation around that), but fuck conscription.

How do you feel about a draft dodger president continuing needless endless wars, calling out/shaming stolen valor frauds, making fun of prisoner's of war, joking about receiving purple hearts, lying about donating money to veterans, and making fun of gold star parents?

And claiming he's smarter than all of his generals? If there's one good thing that might come out of this, its that his generals have no confidence in him as CIC and as such, won't go to war with him at the helm. I can see his cabinet overriding his war time decisions.
