Best Bootleg format for Itunes

Wondering if most people buy the ALAC (or ALAC HD?) files from the bootleg section if they want are going to primary use Itunes to listen? Im not real strong on format knowledge and just wondered the best/easiest way is. Thanks in advance for the help

I always buy ALAC. I'm pretty Apple-centric, so it's just easier to have a format iTunes is already compatible with. I don't buy the HD files though because I rarely listen to iTunes at home. Most of my listening comes from the iPod in the car, and iPods & iPhones only support the standard 44.1kHz. The HD files are compatible with iPods/Phones, but they will be downconverted.
