Never seen issues like this with Reserved Seating

it seems like every few shows with the GA pit they have to stop it to address some asshole... or people passing out... or whatever

I don't every remember seeing these issues up front at a reserved seating show...

maybe it isn't the best idea to have people lining up for 3 days without food and water just for a concert... or to have evenbros trying to bully their way up front... im just saying

Nobody was forced to go without food or water. Hell, there were people going up and down the line selling $1 bottles, and there was free water right inside the gate.

Well THAT will never happen. ;)

I do miss reserved seats. At Wrigley night one... WRIGLEY FIELD with 40,000+ people, I had reserved seats in 4th row behind GA pit. I figured if you factor in all the GA people, figuring maybe 1/4 have numbers lower than mine, if it was all reserved like Fenway I'd probably have been 8th row in front of the stage. I miss those days!

Why they can't simply go to Bruce Springsteen's method of handling GA is beyond me. Such an easy and perfect solution that provides equal opportunity to all - regardless of a person's stamina.

Ive said it a million times... but my ideal system is:

Ticket lottery as they do now. Tickets are tickets, but you have the option of opting out of GA eligibility. So one pool for each show.

Day of the show, you show up, pick up your tickets and find out where your seats are... or if you are in GA.

Line up when you want. At 7:30 PM (or whatever), Springsteen method happens. Everyone let in.

Yeah I know but ive overdone myself one show I will admit but I never ruined someone else's experience

St. Louis 2010 I think had no GA and it was all seats I don't know about the rest of the shows that tour...im going to be honest that was nice

I did GA for Lexington and had zero issues, I think its the ballparks that ive heard the most problems with

GA is so small relatively speaking for the arena shows. And I don't think anyone is all that packed in except the first couple rows and that's their choice. The Wrigley GA was pretty damn huge. Not deep just very wide across the whole length of the stage.

I left my spot 10 feet in front of the stage to go pee at 7:30. I was back in 10 minutes. You could move around pretty easily, for GA
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

    1) On the day of the show, sequentially numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning at 2:00PM. This will take place at 33rd & 8th Vestibule – corner of 33rd St and 8th Ave, adjacent to the Penn Station entrance. Wristbands will be distributed until 5:00PM. (After 5:00PM, additional lottery/floor wristbands will not be distributed until after doors are open.)

    2) Patrons must be present and in possession of their GA ticket to receive a wristband. Only one wristband per patron will be issued.

    3) After the patron’s ticket has been verified as a GA ticket. A wristband will be issued and affixed to the patron’s wrist.

    4) Anyone who receives a numbered wristband prior to doors, has an equal chance to be first in line to enter the Front Area. A wristband does not guarantee a place in the Front Area.

    5) Patrons who have received a wristband may leave the premises. They must return by 5:00PM.

    6) Patrons who received a wristband and are present for the drawing must be ready to enter the venue. This means they should not be carrying any prohibited items with them. e.g. backpacks/ large bags, cameras, recording devices etc… If there are any questions regarding prohibited items, please check with venue
    staff prior to the drawing.

    7) A starting number will be randomly picked by a patron. This number will be announced at 33rd & 8th Vestibule – corner of 33rd St and 8th Ave, adjacent to the Penn Station entrance.

    8) The patron wearing the wristband that matches the starting number will be first in line. All participants are requested to remain in sequential order. Venue entry and security screening may begin as soon as immediately following the drawing. Patrons will be directed by tour and venue staff through this process.

    9) All patrons with GA tickets and a wristband who wish to enter according to the lottery, need to remain present to be processed and escorted into the venue. Failure to be present for drawing, or not remaining throughout the lottery entry process will result in forfeiture of lottery position.

    10) Once inside the venue, a second wristband will be issued to identify those who are within the winning range. This is required to enter the Front GA Area.

I've been in GA multiple times and absolutely love it. Never any issues. I always walk into the venue about an hour before Go time and I've never been further back than about 5 rows. In Greenville we got there 60 minutes early and I got second row on Stones side. GA at PJ is about as tame as it can possibly get. There will always be a few a holes in every crowd, that's just reality. In fact, one of the security guards we talked to last night commented how cool PJ shows were because there are never any issues, or at least rarely. He said its 100% different when he does the country shows because there are fights after fights.

My wife was concerned about GA before the show on Saturday. She is 5'2" and was worried about not being able to see or getting crushed. I told her it would be ok and we went. Afterwards she said she only wants GA from now on. We went in around 6:15 and got 12th row on Stone's side. I thought that was pretty good and considering we didn't stand in a GA line all day. Plus we hit the merch tent on the field and got all the shirts and posters we wanted after a 15 minute wait in that line.

There were a couple of evenbros who tried to get up to the front after the first set but I called them out on their thinking the bathrooms were right in front of Eddie. They stopped when everyone else started calling them out on their shenanigans.

Im sure the extra $ from new and multiple household memberships brought about GA, not a lack of energy up front. Thats myth. That aside, if they insist on GA, the Bruce system seems like it would be an upgrade..unless the band/club merely gets off on people lining up on the inner city streets. Theres also the mess left behind after the GA LINE is gone. Hopefully they will consider some improvements.

Ahh, that's pretty interesting, I'd hardly call it easy though. Seems like it would be a nightmare for the staff.

WHY ARE PEOPLE LINING UP THOUGH? That seems like a poor life choice.

Got in line at gate K across from the fire station Monday night at 4:45 PM. Was 3rd in line. Ended up center of the pit about 6 people back. And I did not have to sleep on the sidewalk a day before the show.

    The generation gap is showing.
It used to be a concert for Pearl Jam fans.
Now we have to put up with a drunken idiot in the flesh.
    Not what GA is about.
