adding shows is bs for totd

temple of the dog never toured before, im sure they knew such small places in philly or seattle would sell out so fast, i dont get why they added a 2nd show in seattle and philly, and san fran too, so that it only to the public. they should of just had 2 shows each city to start with, that way everyone in 10c would of had 2 chances with 10c tickets for each city, instead of just a draw chance for the first night in each city. obviousely they knew they would add a 2nd show since they did so fast. should of given people in 10c more chances to win tickets with lottery, than give them to public where they get resaled on stubhub. so 2nd show in each city san fran, philly, seattle had 0 10c tickets

also besides a nice intimiate small venue in those cities, not sure any other reason to play those venues, because they so small. totd could of easily sold out wells fargo arena in philly, or oracle arena in oakland. bill graham is super old, how is the sound in that place?

It's an awesome venue and the acoustics are great. Not sure how old a place is has anything to do with how good of a venue it is. It's way better than oracle.

I highly recommend the Forum. Imho it is the best sounding venue in the country due to the way they remodeled it. You won't be sorry.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were required to have a second show with only a public sale to secure fan club seats for the first show, Considering the size of the venues

Yup. These are the deals that have to be made with venues, promotion companies, and ticket vendors (ticketmaster) to make these things happen. I think some people really underestimate how difficult it is for groups like PJ to coordinate a allotment of the best tickets in the house for their fans. In a world where the ticket companies, stub hub, re-sellers, etc are all in bed together these are the sacrifices that have to be made to get a little slice of the pie for the fan club. I'm 100% certain that PJ has to make venue decisions sometimes based on what contracts they can work out to get 10C tickets set up in the first place.

Placeholders in case the demand was there, but able to be given up if it was not. Of course you don't book a spur of the moment show, but you can announce it spur of the moment if it looks like it will sell.

i think Franklin Delanos theory makes alittle more sense, but if youre going placeholders, im going placeholders. you've always seemed pretty groovy to me from afar often. i'll vote placeholders.
