Just checked stubhub for Paul McCartney next week @ Citizens Bank Park in Philly... nosebleeds are $37 each... and there are HUNDREDS of tickets available for under $50
$74 for a pair of ballpark concert tix on the secondary market, now THAT is a bargain....
I understand the dynamics of suppmy & demand and all that great stuff, but i honestly think a lot of it boils down to PJ fans are just willing to WAY OVERPAY for anything & everything on the secondary market

Great question - following is some data to help with the answer:
I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and finance professor - who is also interested in markets and market anomalies. Given the special relationship between Pearl Jam and Wrigley field, we have examined PJ Wrigley secondary market prices and trends (as reflected by EBay selling prices) for both the 2013 show and 2016 shows. The study focused on 200 and 500 level tickets and these tickets reflected the majority sold on the secondary market. As you can see from the below data, prices are following similar trends for all three shows - an initial decline, then increases in the months leading up to the show. if the trend holds in 2016 you can expect tickets to continue increasing in price through July and then decline in August (although remaining much higher than face value).

Updated price data, 4 weeks away. The August 20th show continues to be more expensive for 200 level seats and 200 level seats continue to sell at basically the same price as in June for both shows. The second show has also resulted in secondary market prices that are significantly lower than 2013. Prices are declining for 500 level seats as shown below.

I've been on the lookout and watching closely for Fenway as well, but those prices aren't moving much (if anything, they are going up) As it currently stands, cheapest tix for the 4 stadium shows are:
Fenway 1 - $170 Fenway 2 - $173
Wrigley 1 - $189 Wrigley 2 - $116
As I assumed, ticket prices on SH have gone up (except for Wrigley 1, which dropped $1). These are the cheapest tix
