Have any of you been to Bonnaroo? It is perhaps my favorite place. So many diverse music acts. Much better vibe than any other festival. And Pearl Jam can play as long as they want to (no curfew, and headliners can play as long as they want). I already have my Roo tickets, so this news just sent me over the edge with excitement!

    This Guy Gets Me!!!

PJ was the reason i started going to Bonnaroo, and i haven't missed one since then. I've been waiting for them to return since. It's my favorite weekend of the year, an adult disney world. Come join the party!
2013 was my first Roo, and was by far my favorite festival out of the many I have been to. I was already going to go this year if the lineup was good, but I will definitely be going back if PJ is headlining. :joy:
I have been there 5 out of the last 6 years (missed 2012). I am not sure when you guys get in, I usually get there Wednesday night. If you get there that night, go to Groop Camping after dark, and come visit SooperGroop (you won't be able to miss us with our huge ass circus tent). We usually have a welcome to Roo DJ'd dance party that night.

It shouldn't be no. First world problems, they suck. But I still hate if people think, oh American bands should only tour in America because they come from there. One year no Europe and more American.. yes.. fuck them. I hate that attitude. We should all be happy with the opportunity to see our beloved band. We should be happy for each other man. It's quiet fair if some Europe fans are dissapointed by them not coming. Just imagine they would not come to America but only to Europe. How would that feel, it feels fucked up. But to smack that in our faces is a bit rude IMO.

Roo is the shit. I've only been once in 2010 but it's an incredible experience. I would have gone to Nashville and almost 100% can't make it to Roo next year, but it will be amazing for all those who do. Would love to be back down on that farm.

''Nothing?'' Why can't I express my feelings. It's not the first time I've read stuff like; ''Who cares if Europe is being canceled, more for us.'' Just think about the fact I said if PJ we're a EU band. ''They should prioritize more on EU, if that means no USA than no USA.'' That's something I would never say in whole my life man. I think you might feel the same. I'm calm just being honest for once.

That would be a hugeeee heart rip. No interest in going down to Roo but basically was banking on a Nashville trip. Oh well.

Same here. I love Nashville. That city is awesome. Was definitely planning on hitting up a show there if it happened.
Same here, im done with festivals...Nashville is an awesome city

  • I've never been to Bonnaroo, do you have to camp in order to be there to see the bands?

Camping is included with the ticket price (and I say camping lightly...it is more survival refugee camp, but that is part of the charm!). I believe you can get a hotel in town and take a shuttle to the shows each day, but a great part of Bonnaroo are the late night shows that go all night long. I saw Billy Idol at 1AM a few years ago, Flaming Lips in the middle of the night (and ran into Wayne Coyne later that night as well), Ice Cube late night, GWAR at 3AM....You kind of just have to suck it up and camp there.

Pearl Jam will tour the US next year, as bassist Jeff Ament and band manager Kelly Curtis confirmed in a Twitter Q&A with fans last week. Among those scheduled dates will be a headlining set at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Consequence of Sound has learned.

According to two industry sources with knowledge of the band’s plans, Pearl Jam will return to Manchester, Tennessee for their first appearance at the festival since 2008. Next year’s edition is set for June 9th – 12th at Manchester’s Great Stage Park.

Bonnaroo isn’t expected to announce its 2016 lineup until early next year, however, the festival has begun to tease some of the scheduled acts via a series of #RooClue postings to Instagram. Artists including Blood Orange, Lucius, and Jason Isbell appear to be answers for hints released so far.

Reached for comment, a representative for Bonnaroo could neither confirm nor deny Pearl Jam’s headlining performance.

Bonnaroo is an amazing time. If you like say 8-10 bands and can discover a few more you'll have a wicked time. On the other hand it's been going a bit downhill. At least for my musical taste. Don't expect a killer lineup as it's geared towards 20 year olds IMO. Check last years' lineup. It's not for me. But if you like it and it's a similar type of lineup in 2016 just go. You'll have a blast!

Last year's lineup was by far the worst, and was geared towards a younger crowd (and to top it off Billy Joel was mediocre, and I am not a fan anyway). But, if you look at 2013 or 2014 (Jack White was amazing!) it was much better. I think this year, being the 15th Bonnaroo, and with the rumors I am seeing, this will be a more balanced lineup.

And you absolutely will discover new artists. Every year I walk out with a new name or two to look into. It is my favorite weekend of the year!

NOT HAPPY. As someone who live in Nashville, I want to see a proper show. Not a fan of the 'Roo. Maybe back in the day, but I'm over it now. I'd much rather get a full PJ show at the Bridge. Oh well, I guess it's travel time in the spring to Lexington or Atlanta.

Bonnaroo is the type of place Pearl Jam belongs. If you have any reservations about Roo I have been 5 times and there's a reason I keep going back
Mine is mine and yours won't take it's place
