Kalee Scolatti brought energy and excitement to every project she touched. She will continue to be a strong influence and inspiration for all of us here at ABC FOX Montana.

Born and reared in Missoula, it was almost a forgone conclusion that Kalee would become a Grizzly. She entered the School of Journalism at UM and met another bright-eyed student named Angela Marshall.

Kalee had secured an internship at KTMF ABC 23 before merging to become ABC FOX Montana. When she graduated in 2005 the station snatched her up.

Kalee began in the promotions and production department, directing and producing commercials and on-air programming.

On January 1, 2015 Kalee became news director.

Kalee loved music, especially Pearl Jam with its local Missoula ties. She was a wonderful daughter, a supportive friend, an incredible mother, and she will be so desperately missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
The End is played in the video

I am so saddened to hear of this. My heart and prayers go to her family and friends. We are currently looking into whether or not a fund has been set up for her children or a charity, and will disseminate any info we get. Otherwise, we will have a plan to set one up in her memory.

All good. Thanks for helping me out!

I'm not judging her level of fandom in any way. My confusion came from your signature line: I miss igotid88. It kinda threw me for a loop.

I know. That's why I typed Jammer instead of board member. So there won't be any confusion. Unless someone here knew her

Horribly sad. She was murdered, which must be so traumatic for those who knew her.

If her colleagues specifically mentioned her love of Pearl Jam and played a PJ song over their commemoration of her, she was a mega fan for sure. Definitely one of our own whether she posted or not. And i know we must have shared a show in Missoula 2012. I'll bet she was SO STOKED for that in her home town. :)

Everything you just wrote is 100% accurate.

This may get a little rambling, but please forgive me. You guys here amaze me. This band has amazed me since the first day. I didn't know if I should even write something, I am not much of a poster. Where to begin...

    Kalee fucking loves Pearl Jam.

But Kalee fucking loves her family, and that family, included TJ. He was a member of that family. He was at every family gathering, every milestone, every heartbreak. Her parents were parents to him as well. Her daughters are the most important thing in her life and she would do and sacrifice anything for them. She worked so hard to become the best mother they could have. We talked about this kind of stuff all the time.

When you wonder if you were at that show together, you were. And she was so thrilled to finally get to see her band.

Kalee only lives blocks away from the Adams center.
Kalee and I met at work in 2005. When we realized we shared a common love of the same music it was an opening to a door of friendship and conversations that continued everyday, evenings and weekends. Kalee was my buddy.

Because Kalee was a young mother she never got to see her band on the multiple times they played only blocks away from all of us. We talked about live shows, I'd share my stories.

In 2005 I bought her tickets to the show but she couldn't go because she had to take care of her family. In 2006 when they came back to the Gorge I bought extra tickets again. Kalee had a birthday for her daughters so she had to decline. In 2011 I decided I would go to PJ20. She couldn't believe it and to her that was so magical. I came back and told her how I found out the fan club does things exclusively for their fans. When I got access to the Internet in 98 this was the first thing I searched. I didn't understand it was more than a "band site". She and I huddled at her computer when I got back from PJ20 and logged in. I told her that everywhere I went there was 10C special seating, access, you name it.

    We joined.

    We waited.

And Pearl Jam came back again.

Kalee waited for me and my wife at the end of the show with her husband. She tried to tell me how great this show was and she was so excited and she had sang and screamed and expent so much joy she had no voice. I asked her if I could have her ticket stub and she gave it to me. I had secretly picked up an extra poster and had it in my concert tube. I learned this stuff from you guys. I read your comments and I have absorbed your generosity and I wanted her to have a nicely framed piece from the show with her ticket. This group amazes me. She's my buddy.

She hung her finished piece in "a place of honor".

    They didn't play "black".

We scored tickets as a couples trip to Vegas for the Vedder shows through 10C. There was celebrating in the office even though we had already contacted each other as we got confirmation the night before.

The show was rescheduled, she had a family vacation planned just days after the rescheduled dates and she had to let her tickets go. Kalee loved her family.

    Vedder played "black".

She called my wife and I that night to tell us even though we were at the show because she really just wanted to check on me. I had just lost my father. Kalee loved her family. I was one of her family.

    And Pearl Jam came back.

But this time to Portland and Spokane and Seattle. Kalee got tickets to Portland and Spokane. Just days before the show she told me she was letting her Portland tickets go. Times were tight, she couldn't justify the cost if the trip. I think she was also bummed my wife and I weren't going because we had an anniversary planned in Vegas to see Justin Timberlake. (Don't judge) I love my family too. I offered to help and was declined. I google mapped it and broke down the gas price (plus poster!) got her a card stuffed the money inside and wrote something to the effect of black being played. She went.

    They played Black.

In fact they absolutely delivered two incredible shows in Portland and Spokane she cherished being able to see. She told me how incredible it was to see multple shows in a row. I caught Seattle, we traded boots. We're buds.

My wife and I decided to go to Italy, catch the shows and start a family. Kalee was thrilled for us. Our new baby girl was conceived between Milan and Trieste and born March 21st. Kalee was the first person through the door. She couldn't wait. She had to meet her. She was so thrilled for us she talked about all of the wonderful things we were going to experience. Kalee loved her family. And if you were close, that meant you were family.

I'm sorry I have included myself so many times in this narrative. This her story, but we were so intertwined and it was through music. Being able to share music led to so much more. Kalee loved her family so much. There are so many people in this town who are just so torn apart.

Kalee loved this band. She loved the music and she loved what they represented.

This ending is not representative of the life she led or the family she has left behind. All of us are in shock and heartbroken.

There is a deafening silence, and it is the sound of her laughter missing from our daily lives.

Please join Pearl Jam in supporting Kalee's children. They have already reached out.

    This band amazes me.

Thank you very much for keeping Kalee's spirit Alive and well here, and for sharing her with us. Sent a donation. It isn't much, but it is what little I had to offer.

    ^ thank you!

Today we put the shoulder to the wheel.

What happened here is not our town, it was not her life. We gathered together at her mothers home and we moved earth and stone. We built a memorial to Kalee. We dug out yards upon yards of sod and placed pavers. We stacked rock into a circle and we planted a rose bush with her brother and family. We moved mulch and created figures out of stone. We gathered. Tears flowed. Laughter flowed. The healing began. Both families were present. Co-workers gathered. Children played and dogs ran all around. Her children talked and laughed and played. Her mom smiled and cried.

On Tuesday they will bring her home. They are closing off the street. They plan to play her music, our music, the music of Pearl Jam and all are welcome. They want to heal the whole community.

Thank you all for your support. It's going to take a lot.

    God bless you all.

    Damn.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
