Had the iPod on shuffle and PORCH from East Rutherford 06 came on ,9 min 28 secs of PJ heaven ,you can feel it even off the boot the energy they had "JAMMING " during this insane song, the best off the cuff feed off each other jam I think I have heard from PJ
Melbourne ,ROD LAVER 06 ROCKIN IN THE FREE WORLD is another, about 9mins aswell and they just "JAMMED " ,was unfuckreal,
Would love to know some other standouts , that did it for you?

I should say greatest hard rock song ever recorded, but it's all the same. #1 in my book.

    On my list above.

And people: great versions of songs listed in this thread, but the topic is jams, not just good versions of songs.

I'd classify those as improvs, not jams per se.

    ok semantics
I guess the way the OP described jams then these would not fit.
I don't consider pearl jam a band that "jams" or stretches out their own songs ala the Allman Brothers Band. well, maybe when Eddie used to climb. they might throw in a new lick here and there. but they aren't segueing from song to song.

They're certainly not a true jam band, but they definitely jam.

(And semantics again, but jamming doesn't necessarily imply segues)

    Drew,

Things are very good my friend, and I hope things are even better for you. I only hope I have the chance to see your ass again for one of the shows this tour!

Let me know what shows, if any, you are planning on going to. Wish you all the very best my friend, and what a hell of a time we had in OKC last year!
