Where are people staying for Stockholm and Oslo?

I just finalized my plans and am sneaking over to Europe for a quick trip for the Stockholm and Oslo shows, and I'm going solo. Trying to sort the best places to stay in relation to being downtown but having easy access to trains to get to the arenas, etc. I'm arriving into Stockholm on Friday afternoon, so two nights there and then Sunday night in Oslo before heading back to the states.

If there are any locals out there with advice I'm all ears or if there are other U.S. people coming in, where you going to be? I've done solo trips before and usually had good luck finding other people to hang out with or even stay with.

    My friend and I are staying at http://www.kungsbronhotell.se/en/ in Stockholm. It's near the main railway station and quite cheap. We're from Finland (but I'm flying in from Berlin).

    I'm coming in from Chicago. Staying at the Marriott in Kungsholmen. I started another thread asking about places to hang out on Friday night and Saturday before/after the show. Not too many repsonses so far...

    I'm just looking for a good pub.

    I booked the Scandic Anglais Hotel today for Stockholm, I'll be getting in Friday afternoon and staying two nights before flying over to Oslo on Sunday. I normally would be coming from Chicago too (I'm from Milwaukee) but will actually be flying out of Columbus for this because of work. I'll be looking for a place to hang out as well since I'm doing this trip solo, always happy to meet up with some like minded people! My hotel seems to be about a 10-15 min walk from the main train station so hopefully easy to navigate.

    I'm still on the hunt for the Oslo hotel, not getting much indication from other fans, so I might just book something close to the main train station again assuming it will be easy to get to from the airport and after the show.

    If anyone out there is still looking for an Oslo hotel…. after hours of researching and mapping things out the Rica Oslo Hotel (where I'm staying) and the Comfort Hotel Boersparken both seem very nice and very reasonably priced. They are both very close to the central train station in city center as well making it easy for transport to/from the airport and the show…at least I hope.

    Staying at the Radisson Blu Waterfront in Stockholm and at the Voksenasen in Oslo. Looking to hang with friends in both cities. See you there.

    Bear in mind if looking for a pub to hang out in, alcohol in Scandinavia is not cheap :D

    So I have heard… I'm a bit old for "pre-gamming", especially by myself, ha… so we either need to have our own little party, or suck it up and pay the big bucks!

    I'm staying at Ibis Styles hotel which is couple of kilometers away from Friends Arena. Flying in from Berlin late on Friday evening.

    I'm traveling solo to this gig, so I wouldn't mind hanging out with other PJ fans as drinking alone is kinda boring :)

    I did read about that, and it seemed to be a common theme in reviews of the area. I booked as physically close to the train station as I could so it should just be a block or two walk from what I saw. Not knowing the area and needing to get to/from the airport and to/from the gig I figured it was the best bet…and hopefully being a Sunday night maybe it will be a bit calmer than say a Friday or Sat.

    Eek! Bit nervous now about my plan to just stay out all night til I can go to the airport :p Maybe I'll go hang out at the airport instead haha

    The dodgy area starts at the 'bottom' of the main street (Karl Johans street), which leads directly toward the central train station.
    The 'top' of the main street (towards the Royal Palace) is perfectly safe, and from there you just take the Airport Express Train (Flytoget) from Nationaltheatret Station.
