Need help...where to stay in Stockholm & Oslo

HI!

Am so excited to be seeing the shows in Stockholm and Oslo! Have never been to either and need some advice....where to stay?!?!? Will be traveling with the family and am looking to see the sites as well as the shows. Any advice on hotels? Sights? Will be in each city for about three days.

In Oslo, Anker hotel or Anker hostel are the cheapest places I think, and they're located really centrally. You can walk on top of the Opera House, take the metro up to Holmenkollen (our famous ski jump), there are some museums on Bygdøy and we have some nice beaches around there as well. The castle is nice to look at and sometimes they have tours inside of it. If you like walking in nature there are some nice walks in the Frognerseter area. Also, we're very proud of Vigelands-/Frognerparken with the naked statues. Haha. Oslo is very very nice when it's sunny and everyone hangs around in the parks. When it's raining however, it's such a depressing city. Hope this helps!

was at Randall's island and Wrigly! My wife and I are on our way to stockholm and Oslo as well. Trying to figure out where to stay - good luck with your trip!

I stayed right downtown in Stockholm at the sheriton.
Even though a bit $$ it is a block away from the train and right downtown..

Oslo is very expensive so just get a bed and you will be happy ...
and bring your food and booze from Stockholm as it is insane in oslo...
(check out the Viking ship museum in oslo !)

Take the train between the cities . Beautiful !!!

I booked rooms at hotels near both Stockholm and Oslo venues as soon as the shows were announced. Not sure what to do the Friday night before or if there will be any pre-show parties but certainly interested to hear if anyone has ideas.
