I paid too much money for seats last night for sec 101 row a off ebay. First row side stage. Get there and they were roped off and told we were relocated to middle of floor. We were told it was the promoters fault, they weren't supposed to sell those seats. I want to voice my displeasure with them. At least give something compareable to the original tickets. It was a surprise for my wife to boot.

The venue box office would have the promoter's ticketing person's info. Ask the box office to resolve first - and try to have the conversations by email (in writing) so you can hold any promises they make to them. If they pass the buck saying its the promoter's fault, then you tell them to provide you with the individual with the promoter who handles the tickets for this venue, and their phone number and email address. If they don't provide this, then tell them "Because it was the venue's ushers that prevented us from using these premium tickets, and they were unwilling to give comparable or better tickets, that this is the box office's responsibility to resolve".
Id say if the box office doesn't offer a settlement that you find acceptable (refunding face value is the best scenario I can think of) then the most effective next step is if you paid by credit card, calling your cc company... but it sounds like you bought them from a scalper on ebay, but if your credit card was involved anywhere in the purchase you could dispute the charge.
Was the row roped off for use by other people, or was it an empty row for site-line (obstructed view) problems?
