No. No, I'm not. That album had absolutely no teeth. Nothing grabs you and pulls you in.

Maybe for you, for me this album pulls me in quite a bit.

The songwriting is very strong on this one. Especially on tunes like Infallible that are just badass

You know how they said Avocado was a return to form. And then they said Backspacer was a return to form.

THIS, imho, is a return to form.

It gets better with every spin. Headphones help. Playing it loud helps even more. And now seeing the artwork completes it. Starting to agree with those saying it's the best album since Binaural. I'm finding that as soon as I finish listening to it, I start all over again - I haven't done that in a long time. :D

I love it. There is so much richness, harmonies, space, great solos, singing, almost forgot lyrics, the record just keeps on giving. Diverse songs, yet the record feels compact and with its own character.
And yes, the louder, the better.

Saw Pendulum from tonight's concert on Youtube, and it is already owning the room.

Great lyrics and Ed's voice is insane. Especially like Getaway, Sirens, Pendulum, and Infallible.

    :D Hi Eddie.
I was surprised how good of an opener it is. Watch the crowd, especially towards the end.

Cd arrived this morning. Currently on third listen. Love it. Getaway is brilliant, good opener. Feel Getaway/MYM/My Father's Son and Sirens don't flow that well. Lightning Bolt through to Let The Records Play is fantastic. Pendulum is IMO one of the best songs they have released in the last 10 years. Infallible is insanely good. Even like Sleeping By Myself but will probably tire of that quickly.

Love that its Jeff and Stone heavy in terms of songs they wrote.

Cracking album, it has everything Backspacer lacked and I really think they stepped out of their comfort zone with this album. Welcome back Pearl Jam!

It's a very good, deep album. And like a lot of others have said, I feel it's their best album since Binaural. You can tell that the band felt they needed to turn a complete 180 after making Backspacer and step outside of their comfort zone a bit, and they did that. The guitar from everyone is insanely good, and it's so nice to see the return Mike McFuckincready with some nasty solos. Ed's lyrics are great and his voice sounds the strongest/best it has in a while.

Getaway is a great, rocking opener. Like boyo said, the first four songs don't necessarily flow the greatest from a track listing standpoint. The back-to-back tracks Pendulum and Infallible is unreal. These two songs are masterpieces IMO. Yellow Moon is fantastic and different - it provides such a dark kind of tone and imagery, but the sound is upbeat. Just a solid album. I hate to say it, but MYM could very well be my least favorite song on the album. I even liked Sleeping By Myself more than MYM.

Best songs I feel are Infallible, Pendulum, Yellow Moon, Getaway, and Sirens. I also feel these will be some of their best live songs. Let The Records Play is kind of a cool, different bluesy tune that I enjoy. Mike will spin off the planet playing his solo live.

I get that feeling too. Struggling to get into My Father's Son, think the intro is straight from Soundgarden's 'Dusty'.

I don't really like the production, but the songs are good. Better than Backspacer and RA, as good as s/t, but still in the lower half of their catalog.

Same thoughts on My Father's Son. That and MYM are the biggest two that I have found myself really struggling to get into so far.

I agree that MYM may be the worst song on this. Fathers Son is great musically, but the vocal melody with it makes the song kinda a mess.

Start to finish, one of my favorite albums ever so far. Nothing seems forced, the lyrics are magical and the band seem to have matured DECADES since BS. Almost sounds like, finally, after all of these years, the band has been able to perfectly blend all of their influences.
